True. Yet the picture is more faithfully perceived absent the restrictive (and, dare I say, minimizing) framework of the face of the deity.
A substandard and superfluous commentary intrudes upon a whole appreciation (understanding) of a complex work. Who would care to see the deliberately obscure corners of a Rembrandt under a sustained floodlight?
