I read somewhere on the PBS site that someone (can't remember who) said there could be millions of ex-jws. Is there any possible way to confirm just how many of us there are? Even a ballpark guess? I'd like to know if there are more of "us" than "them."
Any way we can count our numbers like the WTS does? I know it's probably impossible, but has anyone tried? How would you go about it? Or is this just a lame idea?
I don't think that is a lame idea, I'd love to know myself. Problem is, how do you define an ex-jw? There are many who still attend but only for the sake of going through the motions yet according to the WTS, they would still be registered as dubs. How do you count them? Maybe if someone starts a thread or a web site (or something) for ex dubs to register. Then how do you know they really are ex dubs? Or that they haven't registered more than once?

If you counted dead people in the mix, I would guess there is about the same number of ex-JW's as there are active JW's.
Just a gut feeling...............

I can imagine that Watch Tower corporation has the best data available to
tabulate this total. Their disfellowshipping numbers and reinstatement
numbers combined to factor in their inactive numbers would get us
started. We could put in the normal "death factor" to the totals.
This wouldn't count all the active faders. But it's a start.
Can we write to QFR and get them started? I bet the JW's would
want to know.
