  I'm totally on the bandwagen with a lawrence version of a convention. Count me in! Although I don't like the idea of having beer after I've just consumed milk and cookies!

  Folks, the more I think about it, the more I'm enjoying these thoughts. Yeah, a real asembly, like ancient Israel... sacrifices in the parking lot, 7 days of feasting, no motels or hotels, bring your sleeping gear and party! Yes, the festival of booths in a downtown parking lot. No "be quiet!" signs, or nasty ushers with attitude. We'll print our own badges, anyone can be anyone they want to be, from anywhere. We were always told to set a good image for the youngsters and the rest of the world - let's do that! I'm posting a separate thread. This is now real!

  My circuit is doing horribly. 2 out of 4 congos in one city are about to be dissolved. There is one cong alot closer to where I live that has only a couple of elders holding on to dear life. I'm a MS and some in that cong have begged me to move there to help. Ones in another congo have asked me to move there as well. Too, my cong has several Elders and MS but the BOE are all old, some of the MS aren't qualified to give talks and the rest are subject to pull a no-show on their assignments, leaving the others to pick up the slack. Another cong has only one married couple under the age of 40. What ever happened to the "young men offering themselves willingly in the day of your military force"???

  many of the older sisters went to the elders and explained that their spouses ( who are not jws) would not be willing to drive them to a hall that was 20 min away from their old hall because of the cost of gas, they are also older women and it would be really hard for many of them to walk to the new hall and lets be honest in SoCal it gets really hot during the summer how the hell do they expect these women to walk to the meetings in the summer heat?

  They don't give a shit. It's that simple. As for these elderly sisters, they'll no doubt be taken down a peg when they get a "special needs" talk at their Hall, giving examples of how the brothers and sisters in Africa walk 20 miles in each direction, (fighting wild animals if need be), in order to get to the Kingdumb Hell. Therefore, these sisters have nothing to bitch about.

  I know of several congregations that have had to amalgamate due to lousy meeting attendence.....meanwhile, the local churches are busting at the seems and are always packed every Sunday. This pisses the Witnesses off to no end, because the rivers of Babylon are supposed to be drying up right?
