Without a doubt, Isaiah 57:3-12 saw its modern-day fulfillment as 1918 drew to a close and the light of day dawned on the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.

Yep, the first study article of the 1 April 2007 Watchtower is a real shocker. Although they have been playing this tune for decades, there is something rather more disturbing about the tone of this latest article. The GB appear to be practically setting themselves up as a ruling clergy class with it.

2520 years after 586 CE comes to 1934. Hmmmm, now what important event in the history of the borg could the Society try and link up with 1934? What a pity they recently announced 'new light' that it seems the heavenly calling did not cease in 1935 after all. Could have easily tweaked a year somewhere to make it fit with that. There is still 1931 available for when Jehovah's Witnesses actually officialy became Jehovah's Witnesses. Maybe they could make that the new date for the start of the last days and bring back the old 'generation' teaching. Damn it's like a game of dominos. -

Rethinking
I'm going to add my two cents.
I've learned quite a few things from this board and have begun to really examine things that are "taught". I too noticed the equation of them trying to make the elders equal to the faithful slave in authority. I even put a note on the side as I thought it to be quite unusual. Boy, you sure begin to see things differently as the scales start to fall off!

I know what happened in 1934.
In 1933 Adolf Hitler was made Chancellor, in 1934 he was made dictator, and the Reichswehr (army) swore an oath to him. In other words, in 1934 a nation swore an oath to Satan's foremost representative: a Catholic!
Now, from 1914 to 1919 there are five years. Five years from 1934 is 1939. In 1939 WW2 started! Obviously the Society was selected in conjunction with the outbreak of the war, as this was the only organisation that would know how to behave. And the fact that the Society procalimed prior to this that they had already been chosen, proves that the Society is a prophet that foresaw the future. -

Big Business! Hmmm, that changed through time as just big business. I had to track it down in all the different Revelation books with the last book it is not so obvious as to the meaning. Prior to the war Big Business was coined against the Jewish people. In my view point, Rutherford turned against the Jewish people because the Jewish people rejected his sermons. I have no proof but it is typical of his character!
Also, I wonder how much money the USA WTBTS gave to England's WTBTS to give to Hitler's cause? I only know that Hitler was funded from people in England filtered from USA. I am not too sure but I believe they were by private groups!
