Kids playing 'chicken' on main roads and railway tracks

come on this is nothing new. we did it when i was a kid. both on the streets and on train tracks. we also played chicken with the old junker cars we drove (similar to the scene in Footloose, just not with tractors). it has to do with thrill seekers and where they are looking for their thrill. when i got older i started hang gliding and jumping off the side of mountains. w/i my group we never had anyone die, so thankfully natural selection did not happen to my group of "morons". we are all employed adults who still go out and try to find thrills where we can.

The kids here play a game called "seat surfing". One moron drives a motorcycle like an idiot, while his passenger stands on the seat behind him, surfing.
Road pizza is a terrible thing to waste.

Perhaps these kids need a trip to the morgue to see what happens when you 'play chicken' with a train. My father drove the trains for 50 years and it was drilled into our heads neverto play on the railroad tracks and never try to 'beat the train' at a crossing. My father saw first hand what happened when people did this and although it wasn't his fault, he felt horrified whenever he felt that "thump" when the train hit someone who thought they were Superman.
The last time it happened was about 10 years before he retired. I was working graveyard in a local coffee shop and he came in around 11:30pm. His face was white and he was absolutely devastated. He had killed a 10 year old boy that afternoon on the tracks. The boy was out with someone from the Big Brother organization and the asshole was letting the kid lay on the tracks as he was fishing off the bridge. My father and the other engineer could see them half a mile away and immediately started blasting the horn. When the kid didn't move, they put on the emergency brakes and continued blasting the horn. Contrary to popular belief, a train does not and cannot stop on a dime. The "Big Brother" just stood there and did NOTHING to get the kid out of the way. At the last minute, the little boy saw the train, jumped up and instead of jumping to the left or right (which would have cleared him), in a panic he started running along the tracks. Two seconds later, my dad and the other engineer heard the "thump" and felt sick to his stomach.
Kids need it DRILLED into their heads not to play on the tracks. Playing 'chicken' with the trains is playing Russian Roulette----eventually you're gonna get hit.

What is being observed is called "Natural Selection". Just let nature take its course and those stupid kids will be naturally selected by a car or train.

In my part of the UK, the police liaise with the fire brigade (who usually end up cutting casualties out of wrecks and clearing the site) to run education days for repeat offenders - drink-drivers or 'joy'riders. They will show them actual footage of fatal crash scenes where drink or high speed has been involved, sometimes followed by a filmed interview with the surviving relatives/victims families (who will have given permission for the crash footage to be used of course) and try drum the message home that 'this could be you next'. They then couple this with re-education on safe driving.
Of course there are still some who won't get the message whatever you do
This is a good idea along with the pm i received . This in the UK was one idea we thought of trying by bringing pics and movies to local schools and showing teens what the real world is like, and to see what really happens to a person in an impact, or taking them to local Morgues as Mary has said . We just have to get parents to agree on whatever we decide to do and hope we have enough barf bags for all the kids ..lol
I do hope something will get through to these teens and i thank you for the responses
