I wonder if you would using trite terms like "natural selection" to descibe the death of your own son/daughter/nephew/niece.
Kids don't grasp the concept of death like adults, they think they are invincible. I did stupid things when I was a kid that I cringe at now and wonder how I ever managed to survive.
Also nowdays most kids have either two working parents or are products of divorce and have a working mom. They are bored and left home alone to amuse themselves. We as adults and parents need to take more responsiblity for our childen and not just pop them out and let them raise themselves.
Rights without responsibilites, actions without consequences - it'll 'never happen to me',
Good point.
I consider this natural selection.
Agreed. One thing that should change is if the driver hits a pedestrian who is NOT crossing at a designated crosswalk, the driver should not be at fault. Unfortunately, here in Canada (at least Manitoba) it is always the driver's fault. I've been driving and some asshole will just walk across the street, not bothering to run or get out of the way of my vehicle. I almost hit a person because of this. Teenagers are just as bad. The thing is, I wouldn't feel bad if I did hit them. They wanna take on a vehicle that weighs more than 10x than them, is 100x more powerful than them, and is made 100% more sturdy than them, they deserve to get hurt or die because of their stupidity.
