By the way, I just loved it, when someone wrote I was "divinely guided". Wow! That's something to tell my children ........

    Re: "divinely guided"...

Please re-read my previous post, as you seem to have a reading comprehension problem.

    ol'Hippie:

ianao: If a someone who considers themself "divinely guided" tells you that you should go out and take a dump on the road as it is God's will, then you do so and get arrested, it was your own fault for listening to the one who recommended you take a dump on the road to remain in favor with God as it was your personal choice to do so.
The "divinely guided" one has done nothing wrong.

Please indicate where I have stated that TheOldHippie is divinely guided in my previous post. I am all "eyes".

    Hippie:

Okie dokie. Let's repeat this and I'll spell it all out for you.

    you = the general reader

"divinely guided one" = oh say, a member of the writing dept. acting on behalf of the governing body.

Now, please state where I have called TheOldHippie "divinely guided". Thank you.

Hey if your version of 'help' is to send the poor ex-jw's into another religion, you are gravely mistaken. Your help should be soley in helping them see the JW's are wrong and to basically teach them how to apply logic to beleif systems and how to use critical thinking, two skills sorely lacking in the cult member. Many of us after applying thse skills on the bible have found it to be completley false, a book filled with the ramblings of old men no different than the governing body.

So please, don't send them off to another religion.

    William,

I think you are doing a GREAT job!

Your willingness to help others is very commendable, and I think there is a need for more like you, not just in the States, but the world over, in every country where there are ex-witnesses.

However, as Farkel brought out, realise that doing this ministry out of guilt is defeating your purpose, and can be harmful to your emotional and spiritual health. If you are doing this out of a want and a willingness to assist those who were also caught by the WTS, then you are one to be thanked and blessed!

I feel you could offer this board a great deal, and I hope you can share with us some tips on how to help ourselves and others to get over the indoctrination of the WTS.

I think I was the one who told you you have "dues to pay."

What I was thinking was more along the line of going to the individuals you may have disfellowshipped or misguided and asking their forgiveness.

What Farkel says is true, to an extent - we are victims of victims.

I'm not sure that this simple truth indemnifies you. On the other hand, it doesn't mean you have some Cosmic Karmic burden to bear like the Flying Dutchman until the end of time.

You have a good heart, and you're tryin to "make good." Speaking to the individuals will probably be the hardest thing you can do.

The light of truth can sometimes be so bright it brings tears to our eyes.

Don't beat yourself up. Think of it as a parking ticket - once you pay the fine, do you dontinue to agonize over it? Pay your fine and move on.

"Harm none, and do as you will."

    JanH:

I see you posted the articles I was thinking about..

    OldHippie:

Just because it doesn't state infatically NOT TO goto college in those posts of JanH, doesn't mean that the intent wasn't there.. The verbage of almost everything the WT does is made to look like you are 'coming up' with your own conclusion while they just present facts.. It's just another trick of brainwashing..

I'm glad to see you didn't fall for it.. That means you must be having some doubghts, as is evidenced by the fact that you are here on this board!!! Congratulations.. I hold much hope for you my friend!
