I found out about this a couple years ago. It was one of those shockers, that is just hard to accept when you hear about it, when you're not in the "Truth".

I posed the question, "why can't they just have a daycare system setup. Seems that would be a standard setup", but one witness from Bethel told me "cause it's not the responsibility of the organization to raise our kids"

YOU GOT TO BE BLANKIN' KIDDING ME!!!! Is what I thought.

That's one of the BEST functions of the WTS, is raising KIDS into the same mind control he was pitching to me.., who the heck did he think he was foolin'?

Just another Red-Flag to you lurkers out there. Wake up.

It's part of that "conditional love" system they have finely tuned to perfection.

No, that would detract attention and manpower away from the operation. Could you imagine a parent at Bethel constantly leaving their post to go check on their kid? The slaves at Bethel need to eat drink and sleep for Bethel otherwise they are shown the door.

The last I heard the witnoids arent supposed to get married or have kids because we are in the last days. These are critical times and hard to deal with. So the day care would be empty.

Special cases only. Married Brother and Sister with young daughter ,about five or six years old, from Finland was asssigned to our congregation in Brooklyn,NY. They stayed at a Bethel Apartment House. His assignment was in the Translation Department. She pioneered and took care of her daughter, home schooling etc. They were considered Bethelites, they ate meals and went to Monday evening Watchtower Study with all the other Bethelites.

I think the Schroeders had a son and lived at Bethel. The son is Judah Ben Schroeder and is being trained to be a lawyer at WT expense.

There is a Dr there, Walter ???. I forget his last name. He is at one of the apartments with his wife and daughter. This all may have changed, His apartment is one of the buildings up for sale.

Yea, it's OK for Mister Slime Schroeder. But not for everyone else. (Yes, he was one of the ones that sterilized it so much during the Raymond Franz era and destroyed the congregation gatherings.) Here is one example of a guy that burdens the congregation with rules galore and then will not budge them with his little finger. Prime example of Pharisetic hypocrisy.

I have to disagree w/you notaness. On the surface it perhaps seems "unfair". But think about it......

I'm glad they have this policy as I don't believe it's a healthy environment to raise children. It's already tough raising kids while a JW. They are expected to act like little adults, no worldly friends, etc.

Can you imagine living at Bethel w/your children who would be under Mother's microscope more so? I mean ----- "we have to make a good impression w/the world and set the "perfect" example" would be their mantra.

I noticed from reading 5th generation's post about his daughter's b/day that you also have a 10 year old daughter. I raised 4 (3 boys, 1 girl) in the organization. There is no way in h*** that I would want to submit them to such a regimented lifestyle w/all that goes along with it.

Do you know what I mean? Brings to my mind these religious communes w/kids involved.

    Just a thought.

Why would any bethelite want to marry and have children? You don't want to bring kids into a world with so much crime, paedophilia, immorality, false idol worship etc. Then theres the issue of the 'old system of things'.
