To understand what Max. mean't - Look at the UN DPI/NGO brochure under what the DPI offers associated NGOs - ie. access to the UN DPI reference library etc.

Thanks Hawk,
I just didn't want to miss some other possible explanation for the beast issue. Watching people going to such great lengths to explain it away is truly sad.
I did prune and neaten up my release. After reading Catholic Guy's input I am considering revisiting the release yet again. I'm in a holding pattern now. I did send out my revised release via email but I might be sunk without a fax to offer a hard copy. I don't know if it will generate any interest or not. I emailed four papers and two newswires. I will bring the thread I started on contacting the media up to the top again to see if anyone has had any luck with it.
I haven't emailed Bill yet, mostly because I am seriously weighing CG's insights and wondering if my release is effective in it's current form.

There are fax services who will convert an email into a fax for you and send it. Unfortunately most add advertising and so they don't look professional.
An alternative, and in my view more effective, approach is to target a specific journalist and then try to get them interested through a very personalized, targeted email. If we could identify someone at Newsweek or Time then I/we could try that. Maybe Steve Hassan would know someone. Randy???? Max, yr thoughts?

I seem to have missed something somewhere. Are we saying that the WTBTS actually had to renew their memebership annually?
If this is so, then the withdrawal of membership once the secret was out only compounds their guilt.

No doubt, this is the way the Governing Body feels...just like the Pharisees in Jesus' day. Complete "Satanic" Control...so much so, that "Satan" will have to be "cast out," or expelled from such a "demonized" group. But, this will not happen. Because they are the "Man of Lawlessness," unrevealed to many thus far. God will allow Satan to have more and more "control" over them...even allow Satan to them grant them, that's the Governing Body of JWs, "...every powerful work, lying signs, and portents." It is sure to happen. -- 2 Thess. 2:3-9
The "Satanic" control exhibited over this "world" [Greek: Kosmos, "an orderly arrangement"] calls for SUPERNATURAL HELP on God's part...an "expelling of Satan" from this "world"...a demonized "world" ... the "world" of JWs as a nation. Just like in Jesus' day. Satan has to be "cast out", of this demonized JW "world." We remember the book of Luke 8th chapter shows, appropriately the "spirits [demons] were made subject" to the apostles. This making the "spirits" [demons] "subject" to the apostles was necessary. Thus, this obvious, "Satanic" Demonic influence had to be addressed...must be address if any spiritual progress is to be made. Jehovah and Jesus knew this. Thus, the act of "expelling" demons became a lifelong "activity" of the apostles. -- See Luke 10:18-20; John 12:31.
And, that is precisely what Jesus' ministry, accomplished...the "judging" and "casting out" of Satan. Jesus made it a practice, to "expel" demons, during the course of his ministry, and allowed his disciples to do the same. Jesus gave his disciples "AUTHORITY OVER unclean spirits [demons]." Thus, the first century christians were completely free of any "Satanic" influence, at all. Satan, had been truly "cast out." Now, they could grow strong, spiritually. -- Matthew 8:16; 10:1; John 12:31; Acts 16:16-18
It is the same in our day. Satanic, Demonic influence must be addressed by all JWs, worldwide. Satan must be "cast out," again...from this "world." Supernatural help is needed to truly accomplish this. -- See Revelation 12:7-12.
And it will be accomplished, again...and the "birth of God's Kingdom" along with it. -- Isaiah 66:5-9
In the meantime...the "Man of Lawlessness" is busy...forcing the "birth" or separation of this "kingdom"...shortly to be "cut out of a mountain"...a Divine separation...a precious "stone"...the beginning of God's Kingdom. Shortly upon us. -- Daniel 2:34, 44, 45

Here is a quote that explains the entire problem, the "transgression" the GB/WTS committed 10 years ago, by using the Sept. 8, 1991 Awake magazine...and subsequent issues since that time. ...The society is now allowing the Dept. of Public Information of the UN to DIRECT, in part, the content of their magazines. They have entered an AGREEMENT to USE their publications to promote the ideals of the UN. I thought that JEHOVAH was the one DIRECTING the content and ideals of these publications. Remember: Its the use of these "publications" to uphold the UN, that's the problem...the publications that have previously, glorified and declared "His Great Name." Those who formerly, "boasted in His Name," even. And now, by relying upon the political nations for "security" and prosperity, they have effectively "renounced" this "Great Name" ...by saying, "we have no king but Caesar." Therefore, their "disgrace," is now complete. Now, God acts...He makes the "sun go down at highnoon" or "midday" for God's Name People...sudden spiritual "darkness" instantly upon JWs. You are correct sir.
All NGOs that are associates with DPI must, every year, complete an "annual accreditation form". This year the form is called "the 2002 Accreditation Form". It is an internal DPI form not for public release that "associated" NGOs must complete and submit showing among other things who is the contact person, president of the company and any other changes in the corporation's status.
I am just getting a hold of a NGO near me who is also Associated with DPI to see what the form looks like.
This is more big news and I am glad you picked up on it.

I disagree and take issue with your twice characterization of the Society's joining with the UN as a NGO Partner/Associate as merely being a stupid attempt to gain a "UN Library Card", with the implications of such being unforeseen or at least minimized.
The evidence clearly points to the fact that the Society developed a strategy in the late 1980s to seek out friendships and partnerships with both Governmental entities and NGOs in an effort to gain favors which would advance the WTS's worldwide corporate goals.
I believe that AIDAFRIQUE was founded in 1990. The French JW Website has several webpages which brag about AIDAFRIQUE'S cooperative activities in Africa with UNHCR throughout the 1990s.
Recent posts here show that the WTS has participated in government hearings relating to "freedom of religion" in at least the U.S. and Australia.
Recent posts here also show that the WTS has a cozy relationship with OSCE, HRWF, and other European HR NGOs.
We all know about the WTS's relationship with CESNUR. What many may not know is that its Pres, Massimo Introvigne, is even currently in the process of writing a WTS history book.
The excerpt below shows that the WTS has used its UN NGO status to participate in UN International Conferences, and has gained a good measure of prestige from such.
All this proves that Lloyd Barry DID NOT do this behind the GB's back. Gaining NGO status at the UN was part of an WTS global plan.
For you to characterize the WTS's prostitution with the Beast as simply being a stupid attempt to gain a "UN Library Card" gives the WTS the "OUT" of saying, "As imperfect humans, we simply made a stupid mistake".
NO, this was calculated and deliberate, and we should not Help the WTS to get OUT of this one!!!

United Nations Conference on National Minorities
Geneva, May 1999
Macedonian Human Rights Movement of Canada
From May 25 - 31, 1999 the Macedonian Human Rights Movement of Canada (MHRMC) attended a conference sponsored by the United Nations Commission On Human Rights, Sub Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, Fifth Working Group Session. The conference was held in Geneva, Switzerland, the European headquarters of the United Nations. In addition to the two external delegates of the MHRMC, Spiro Kotsopoulos and Susan Trchaevski, one internal delegate, Father Nikodim Tsarknias, also attended the conference.
Participants at the conference included government delegations from over thirty countries, as well as over fifty Non Governmental Organizations (NGO's) such as the MHRMC. The conference also had a special guest for one of the afternoon sessions, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Mary Robinson. Ms. Robinson gave an oral presentation and responded to questions from the Working Group. The purpose of the conference is to investigate and promote a better understanding between States and minority groups according to the United Nations Declaration on Minority Rights.
The MHRMC was able to voice its concerns, called an intervention, for Macedonian minorities in Greece, Bulgaria and Albania, on two separate occasions for all of the governmental and NGO representatives for the Working Group. Our comments were well received and entered into the official record of the conference. We received congratulations and very positive comments from several of the attending organizations.
In addition to private meetings with representatives of the governmental delegations, we also had numerous meetings with other NGO's in between sessions, including: Watch Tower, a religious organization which has had great success against Greece at the European Court for Human Rights in Strasbourg; the Turkish Association of Graduate Students of Western Thrace; the Christian Solidarity Worldwide Association, who was particularly interested in speaking with Father Tsarknias; a representative of the European Union; and Dr. Jane Cowan, Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Sussex, England, who is a specialist on the Balkans.
The contacts made at this and other similar conferences are kept up to date on the latest development with regards to the Macedonian minorities by the MHRMC.
By attending such conferences and maintaining contact with the governmental and NGO representatives, as well as interested individuals, the MHRMC hopes to further the struggle for attainment of fundamental human and national rights for Macedonians. I wonder how this fits into the UN scandal. This is a quote from the BOE letter from March 1. 2000:
