Obviously an in-joke put in by the intelligent designer. After all, it must get kinda boring individually creating 9,000,000,000+ species (only to have most of them go extinct) .... gotta have an outlet for the tedium somewhere. At least the hyenas get to laugh about it.

I always loved this hyena joke:
One day, a hyena came up to a monkey and said, "You see down that path? Whenever I go home down that way, a lion always jumps out and beats me up
The monkey replied, "Would you like me to come with you this time so if the lion comes out, I'll help you fight him..."
The hyena said yes and they set off down the path. Then the lion jamp out and started fighting the hyena. The monkey ran up a tree until the fight was finished. Then he came down.
"I thought you were supposed to help me!!??!!" the hyena cried.

Oh, this has been a favourate of mine for ages.
Problem is, when you do use it on a Dubbie, they don't tend to have the mental courage to pursue the obvious implications, or the education to actually see the implications.
