Can you imagine some poor senior suffering from cancer or something, being faced with a multi-thousand dollar bill to end their life? Well, Mr. Jones, that'll be 500 dollars for your 1 day hospital stay, 10 dollars for aspirin, 20 dollars for alchohol swab, etc etc etc.
That is exactly what they face right now just to be kept alive! I have a co-worker who says One Dose of a cancer medicine she has to take costs $1200.00. Granted, she is insured, and is young and has kids, so she has reason to want to keep living. But I would be horrified if I saw everything I worked and saved for (whatever little that will be) get bled away in front of my eyes so that instead of living to 86, I could live to 86 and 3 months, I would want that I choose the time and means of my life's end. It's practical and kind to my survivors as well (unless I can't stand them, in which case I'll stay alive just to spite 'em!)
