  Basically the whole conversation all boiled down to him not having anywhere else to go; he said he couldn't go to Christendom...

  Funny isn't it, that if you get someone to actually sit down to be reasoned with, and you show them by using basic common sense that the WT is nonsense, that this is the best argument they can come up with. The couple of jws that I occasionally speak to have said similar comments, when backed into a corner. It really goes to show that the average jw does not have good reasons for what they believe, do they?

  Dawg, you did an excellent job in handling yourself with your cousin other than the pyramid thang and I am shocked that you have had good response from family members regarding your letters.

  Usually, ones who write family letters and cast out even further by family and considered a nuisance. I'm glad you have been succesful You remind me of myself when I first learned all I knew about the witnesses. I got into some good conversations with my mom, my sister, my daughter and son-in-law on a few occations....but I had to be careful in how and how often I discussed things. Far too many ex-dubs go about things in a bad way and have zero success in trying to un-dub the dubs and only add to the pain.

And thus it will be noted that this "Witness" fully corroborates the' Bible testimony on this subject...

  Read carefully what i wrote in my last post; the date 1914 is partally derived using the pyramid was what i stated... I stand by that as one of the ways in which Russell arrived at that year as having prophetic meanings. Remember, Russell and Miller changed the year Armageddon would come time and again; not just the year 1914. One of the posts says that the early bible students didn't know pyramidology and numerology was from the occult... how do you know what they had knowledge of, can you read their minds? You make that statement knowing Russell's ties to the masons? I'm not buying that and I doubt you have evidence to support that conclusion. From what I've read about that period, many who considered themselves christian dabbled in the occult. Face it folks, numerology and pyramidology is an occult pratice no matter how much you try and sugar coat it and Russell used it at a minimum to support 1914 as the year of armageddon would come. After reading gumby's quote I'm confused as to why you're attacking what I've said... I said it was one of the ways he arrived at that date... How can I be wrong? I said pyramidology and numerology is from the occult; how is that wrong?

  Because cooborating an existing conclusion is not the same thing as arriving at a fresh conclusion. The 2520 year method of arriving at 1914 predated the pyramidology by years

  I recently said to a friend of mine (although the conversation was not anti-WTS, just anti- my not being at the meetings) that God was going to judge me on what I did on my own and not in relation to anyone else, right?

  His answer: That's right. He is going to judge you and you alone both for what you do (drum roll because he thought he had me) and what you don't do (meetings, feild service)

  So I told Him that as long as God was the one who was going to judge me on what I did or didn't do, then I was going to decide for MYSELF what to do or not do. If I had to pay the price or recieve the reward ON MY OWN, why would I listen to anyone else?

  In the future, I will take precautions not to say that the year 1914 was derived using the pyramids... I will say that Russell backed up his 1914 claim by using the pyramids and that this is occult in orgin; which means the year 1914 still has occult ties in relation to Russell. Now, will you guys back the hell off me so I can feel happy about the fact that I've won such a great victory over the fools that run the WTBTS... so i made one slight gaff, who gives a sh*&, I don't claim devine guidance like they do in the first place... can't you guys make me feel happy that I kicked a little WT ass instead of focusing on one error for the love of God? Still, thanks for helping me to see the error and I'll make sure not to say that again...

  dawtg ; you went way over all of your jw families heads with your knowledge. and you are right to an extent. about the pyramids and occolt, the wt printed the the pyramid is the bible in stone. b uilt under the guidence of jehovah, they in to astrology saqing when jeputier and uranus align in 1914 will be the end. they were into a lot of quack occult ideas , just read ken raines site "jw research". http://www.premier1.net/~raines/ . dawg your smart you kept them on the defensive. you can never let up. keep the petal to the metal. you got your cousin right were you want him. now YOU NEED THE ATOMIC BACK BREAKER. and here it is. remind your family they are studing the rev. climax book. and that book keeps saying thaqt what they were teaching in 1919 etc was proper spritual food at the proper time from jah. then you list each of your false teaching one at a time. after you mention each false teaching. STOP AND ASK STRAIGHT OUT . WAS THAT PROPER SPRITUAL FOOD FROM JEHOVAH/ DID JEHOVAH TELL THE WT TO TEACH THIS GARBAGE? KEEP USING THE SAME LINE OVER AND OVER they will get the point. make a really big deal about this. the bottom line if it was false teaching 100 years ago , and the wt knows it , then why in jah's name are they calling it TRUTH today. i can drill a jw on this one topic for hours. and never lose. use rev 20;10 about false prophets getting thrown into the pit of fire , and gal 1;6-9 about false gospel ie. 1914 also remember to keep saying jehovah hates a false witness/liar. every time a jw wants to read me a bible verse, I tell them since they are preaching a false gospel of 1914 that none of the apostles ever preached and they are not in the NEW COVANTANT THEY ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO READ OR TEACH ME FROM THE BIBLE. works every time. john

  Im happy for your successes, and wont split hairs over the origin of the 1914 doctrine, as far as Im concerned it originated in hell anyway. Good job and keep up the good work. Keep us informed on your updates.

  Yes. Russell basically said that the pyramid method was not occult. The WTS would disagree with that.
  Provide quotes if you want to keep arguing this. If you want to say it wasn't occult until later, well now it's later.
