Choosing Life:
I agree with you about the silly skits they wanted the women to perform. I also felt it was an insult to my intelligence, not to mention that I hated getting together with women I didn't like or didn't want to know. I also was and am of the opinion that I was not there to make anybody feel "good". Pathetically, there were women there who loved the attention and liked getting on stage.
It is almost as if somebody dreamt this up because it made them feel all warm and fuzzy to see the 'womenfolk' all together like some kind of quiting bee. This person or persons had no concept of the fact that women in the modern world also in many cases have to go out and earn a living and have better things to do with their time.
This, along with other things too numerous to mention, offends me.
