  Yes Juni I also watch it, I have all the Discovery channels, Discovery, Discovery Science, Discovery Civilisation, Discovery Travel, as part of my cable TV package and I enjoy them all. As for the ants in tropical jungle areas they make up 25% of the biomass, 15% is the global average.

  There are active insects even in antarctica at least in the summer. They are everywhere on land and in the air but as for the sea there are only a few like the marine fly living on its surface. It's hard to get away from flies.

  I didn't know that and it makes me wonder how they figured it out. I've been seeing a lot of fruit bats out here flying around at night lately. Very cool.

  I spent time in New Mexico one time, and went to a bat cave and watched them leave. The sheer number of creatures in flight, that they become a cloud before your eyes, makes you realize you are outnumbered.

  I'm guessing that was carlsbad caverns? I've been there when I was little but I don't remember a whole lot- I'm planning a trip out to kartchner caverns hopefully pretty soon here.

  I used to rehab wild animals - (no ninja. They had no alcohol or drug addiction)

  One of my favorites was the little brown bat that is native to Wisconsin. They had the cutest pug noses and big ears. Very delicate creatures. They would smack their mouths when you fed them. It was the cutest thing to hear and watch.
