What do you think the first secret watchtower is going to be about?

What's the earliest that a person jw or not could receive a copy of the 1/1/08 (or is the jw copy going to be 1/15/08)?

If they only took out the questions in the jw copy, then they would basically be identical if the purpose is to not overwhelm non-jws with jw jargon, "difficult" concepts. etc.

Sounds like that is all they are doing blondie, it will be interesting to actually see a copy though.

I foresee the JW edition getting cheaper and cheaper as the funds tighten up. It will eventually be just plain-paper
articles with little or no art. It will eventually include the monthly OKM. When the funds dry up more, they can
ditch the public edition (way down the road) and make the local congregations copy the JW issue at the KH.

By that time, the publishing company will publish very little. They are just preparing for this. Meanwhile, they
continue to churn out the same-old garbage.

The first study articles will contain some phrases that will make JW's think that outsiders wouldn't understand
the article, but the cult indoctrination heavy information will be snuck in later. This way, rank-and-file won't
    notice how heavy it got.

I think some of you guys are making too much of this. It's primarily designed to save money by

printing fewer magazines. No matter what they print, it's still going to have to be cleared by the legal

Dept. to avoid disasters. Look at the claims they made for the new single-monthly Awake magazine,

when they had to make a cutback. It was supposed to have more emphasis on the Bible - and it's

the same poorly thought out crap.

I asked my niece tonight about these "secret" watchtowers she said the only thing they were changing was to take the questions out of the placement magazines

If it was just that they were taking the questions out of the public WT.........................then why dont they just print separate questions for the pubs and have the same WT for everyone........................but we know the answer to that one right

I think the new issue will have several segments to it. A few will be repetitive month after month regarding Apostates and contributions(wills, estates, etc).

I had an amusing thought about a possible segment, intended to prevent the youth, and singles, from streching out into the world. A segment where they can post a singles ad. It was ha ha at first and then reality set in. If the WTS did that they may stay in existance longer.

No actually we don't as it all just pretty much conjecture at this point.

Here is my best guess, with the proviso that I could just as easily be wrong. The first few are likely to contain material about donating more money, putting trust accounts and wills to the Pedophile Protection Work, and perhaps about how the new arrangement is going to be so much better than the existing one.

After a couple of months elapse, they will start with the pioneering. They will make up things where everyone needs to pioneer, unless the Tower decides that circumstances absolutely prohibit it and the Tower decides that it would be impossible to adjust the circumstances. At that point, the bans and ridiculous s*** starts to hit the fan. From that point on, they will work on banning entertainment items, the Internet, school and work, and so many other things while talking about improving the quantity of placements per hour of service. After about a year, they will have material that basically keeps people from closely associating with those outside their own congregation and particularly their own book study.

All the while, there will be reinforcement about the disfellowshipping arrangement. They will push baptism on six year olds, and subsequent disfellowshipping of six and seven year olds who break one of the ever-increasing rules. They will have never-ending warnings about apostates, the Internet, worldly media including newspapers, worldly music and movies, and even about spending any time playing while out in the misery.

Within five years, the congregation will effectively be cut off from society at large, except to sucker them into the cult. People will no longer be allowed to do anything that worldly people do. They will spend all their time going from door to door, braving everything from getting shot, dogs, sickness and injury, and the law to get everyone no matter what the cost. It's all about short term gain at the expense of the long-term growth. Get those drones out there to sacrifice about 30 or 40 years of life in order to get just one more person ensnared. Oh yes, I also predict that they will do away with new marriages within the first five years, and maybe much much sooner.

I know that it is impossible to tell with precision what will actually come out, until the first Kool-Aid edition is leaked onto the Internet or Blondie puts up the first study article with Comments You Will Not Hear at the Watchtower Study post. Once that happens, then a sense of direction will allow better predictions about what their next move is likely to be. We will be watching.

After years of seeing excitement whipped up among JW's about marvelous new "arrangements" that turned out to be the same old crap, slightly tweaked, I'm inclined to think that what we will see in the new "secret" Watchtower editions will be: the same old crap, slightly tweaked. Take the two Watchtowers for any given month, clip out all the study articles and put them under one cover (along with, maybe, the more organizationally-oriented "Questions from Readers"). Then take all the articles that are left, and place them under the other cover. Then print 14 million or so fewer copies of the ones with the study articles. That, I think, is pretty much what next year's Watchtowers will be like.

I think NeonMadman has probably hit it closest:

To add my 2 cents $.005 after deflation worth. I think you will see more of this:

    * Cover story leading in to Study Articles * "Life Stories" at the end of each Kool-Aid edition to "encourage" guilt trip the dubs to do more (since the average Householder will not care one bit about that.) * 4 or 5 study articles each Kool-aid edition * Organizational QFR (as NM said). Maybe I could see them including the Kingdom Minstry (thus eliminating the KM...more cost savings)....IF they control the WT Koolaid edition like they control the KM distribution.

I do believe it is part of the overall cost-cutting measures: see my post on this.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/136026/1.ashx
