Vernon - you trying to raise my blood pressure? Lol. Makes me angry - and they seem to be able to 'boot' people easily, knowing that no Dub will believe what they're saying, as they're NOW apostates. He ought sell his story to a newspaper.

Vernon! Thank you for that information! Now I feel more 'ripped off' than I did before. But then what do can you expect from a big business masquerading as a religion?

Thanks Vernon - very interesting and not at all surprising.

It's so similar to Multi Level Marketing that you wonder whether the WTS was used as a business model and inspiration by the original MLMers!

All they had to do was incentivise the people at the base of the geometric progression pyramid by offering them cash incentives instead of the rather tenuous incentive of life in Paradise Earth.

    Thanks for that Vernon.

The level of profits they make out of the mags annoys me, but doesn't surprise me.

When i was working in the Aust branch I was told that the cost of printing a mag was 21cents, at that time we were selling them for 40cents.

The WTS is a non profit corporation because it does not distribute profits to shareholders. This does not mean it does not make a profit.

It seems as if France knew what it was dealing with when it refused to give the WTBTS a tax exempt status, not only from the aspect of it being a controlling cult, but also, it is a business making a profit. As JWfacts pointed out, though it isn't paying out to shareholders, it is keeping its profits. Unlike the Catholic Church which is seeks to deride at every opportunity, it has no significant or notable charitable works that it supports.

Gill possibly the Paedophile Benevolence Fund.

Clam! Ah yes! A very notable charitable work!!! Even pedophiles need love and support and the Watchtower Society are the ones to give it!!!

Wasn't it Paul Berry who cost them about $250,000 in legal support! That's one very lucky Pedo!

You know, this thread topic is interesting, something I haven't really given thought to before.

    I think we've been HAD.
