Wackiest thing I ever got from the elders.. ok two things..

first .. was when I divorced my first husband.. and for cheating.. but he denied it to the elders even though he admitted it to me..

they told me since I didn't have the 'right proof' that even though he was no longer my husband legally.. I still had to give him respect as my head.. RESPECT!! can you buy that??

second.. when I was a very naughty girl.. years later.. and become involved in sexual immorality (isn't that just how they would have put it)..

well I had a threesome.. male male and me..

they assumed first it was female me.. and male.. they told me at least it wasn't that.. for that would have been WORSE.. because then it would not only have been sexual immorality .. but also lesbianism....

    nuts.. I tell ya

well one time I remember I went and got a hair cut and I was so angry that it was so short as I always wanted long hair. Some idiot lady in the cong. complained to an elder about how short it was and that I looked like a boy and they were going to put me on public reproof!! ha ha ha... Man, I was mortified! They didn't publicly reprove me but I had to wear a hat for a while as I was causing some sort of misguidance for this idiot woman and her kids! unbelievable!!

Lol I'm lucky I didn't get stung with that one. I used to get mistaken for a boy with my haircuts. There was a pioneer sister with really short hair here though I used to always point to her to justify my haircut though my mom said hers was better styled to look feminine ::eyeroll:: We also used to always get yelled at as kids for running our hands along the wood lining the platform. There was this one old couple that was freaky that used to sit in the second row before the meeting would start and would come after us for doing it even if others would elave us alone. Or they would get mad at us for dropping little pebbles over the railing to the outside stairwell before. We would try to hit the spider nests at the bottom and stir them up.

The only council i ever recieved was when i was going out with a worldly boyfriend(well the only one that my parents knew about) and my mum called the elders over to have a 'chat' with me.

All they went about was have you had sex this man... i lied and said NO...

One of the elders went on saying that he knows what young worldly guys are like as he used to be one many moons ago and started going about that you can't be unevenly yolked and all that garbage that goes with it.

That was the last time i heard from them as i moved out of the area till 7 years later they decieded to DF me.

Belncon- That elder just had to remind you he was like worldly guys at one time. Sounds like he was bragging he was a stud or something. Munkafats- Who's gonna rock out with you listening to music in the rurals?? Deer, squirrels, bears, lizards?? Jeez, idiot elders. Spare me.

I was counseled back in the early 70's about the length of my skirt. It came to about half an inch above my knees. The elder told me it was too short and that he expected me of all people to set an example for the other young ones in the organization. So I let out the tiny hem that was in the skirt as far as it would go. Then I got really mad and took the hem back up even higher than it had been before.

That same elder found out I had gone out on a date with a "worldly" man, so he came to talk to me about it. I told him there just weren't that many guys around in the "truth" and that the ones who were around were taken and he said "it sounds like sour grapes to me". Just remembering the angry way he spoke to me about both these things makes me angry to this day.

An elder who had no kids told me to change my new born babies feeding time cause it was interfering with the meeting and that I was not getting enough spiritual food. This eder had not seen my hubby standing behind him. Agent Smith told him that he was not well and to mind his own business.

After attempted suicide, 6 weeks in psychiatric hospital for acute clinical depression.

I had to face a Judicial Committee, was privately reproved, removed as a Min Servant.

There advice ..the usual... get on the field service more and attend the meetings. They just couldn't comprehend that depression means you don't want to talk to, or meet other people. If just one of them had said "Come on I'll help you get through this" I may well still be a JW.

Then after about 6 months and I wasn't "improving" they get my wife to tell me to leave the family home. Because I was a "spiritual danger" to the family. I had to find somewhere to live and move to another congregation.

The stupidity of it was that they just didn't realise it made me look at the Watchtower in a different light.

I started to question and research.

So many times I read how these people are their own worst enemy and don't realise it.
