Lets say, you would be alone with an elder in a room, and you wouldn't be allowed to come out of that room until both agree that either the Watchtower is wrong or they are right.
Who would win the discussion, you or the elder?
You would be allowed to bring a bible and their literature to prove what you want to say.
Am I allowed to bring in handcuffs, and a gun?
I would win or we never leave the roombecause I will never agree that the Watchotwer is right.
I would win, hands down. The JW's arent used to debate, they are trained to leave if someone can debate the bible as well as they can. The minute you start showing them the many ways the Watchtower has lied, they will plug their ears and leave.

Me. And not because I'm any Einstein, but simply because it's not very difficult to prove that the WTS is wrong.
But I also said, both would have to agree......or else they don't leave the room....

I agree with all previous comments. I would open up a can of Alan Shore whoop-ass that would make them speechless. Facts are facts. Canned responses can never compete with hard facts, reason and logic.

Me and an elder? The elder would win. Because 1 people believe what they want to believe. That's why it is so hard for any one to figure out what the truth is and what is really going on. You have to get to a place of overcomming your personal bias and prejudice.
If I convince the elder he and the troof is wrong. He looses everlasting life. That's not good. That is a powerful shader of reality.
In my world people dont leave the troof based on one persons comments. It is the end result of time and experiences and periods of being aware and cognizant of ones surroundings. That's not going to happen over the short haul.
Also, I personally dont carry around a large list of why the watchtower is wrong. In my world if I find one thing wrong and it claims to be from a perfect God, it is all wrong. That one thing is I Iived thru 1975. I didnt get an education, I have gotten old, and life is a difficult struggle because of them aholes. A 30 year old elder isnt going to buy that. And if hes a 60 year old elder, theirs no fool like an old fool.
I would say that it would depend upon the elder.
if it is the any elder from my last cong - it would be a draw. None of them are open to any agreeing except what is already in their minds.
If it is an elder from my new cong - I would win. The elders are none too bright in my hall. I have stumped them with minor questions about trivial things.
