Who owns the Society?

So all the 'extra' money that isn't 'really' a profit, is sitting somewhere in bank accounts.

Who has access to those bank accounts?

Who holds the cheque book and the debit cards?

Could it be one, two or a group of people?

Whatever the answer to that, if these accounts are being held secretly and no one can access that kind of information then you can guarantee that something 'non kosher' is going on somewhere. When there is no accoutability and no open access to this kind of information there is very real danger of fraud both against those who donate to the bOrg and the government from tax revenue loss.

We already know that the DO's and CO's are not paying taxes on all the 'handshake money' they receive from the R and F, so why no the bOrg itself?

Passive suicide - You make a very good point which does apply to those of us who have no relatives left in the bOrg. BUT, a lot of us have all our families trapped in it and so we are bombarded by WT information, cult behaviour, shunning from relatives.

If non of my family were dubs, I'd drop fighting the WT like a hot potato. As it is, it holds the majority of my family and all of my husbands family in its grip. I am regularly told by my parents that me and mine are all going to die soon at Armageddon! Though i may smile politely, inside I am angry at their arrogance and stupidity. So, just as people who lose relatives to drunk drivers, speeding drivers etc, tend to try to help others and prevent similar tragedies happening, those of us with family still 'in' do the same.

Don't forget, people die all over the world every day because of WT policy. Sometimes you have no choice but to stand up, and do something about it!

Those who can walk away without a backwards glance are lucky!

The rest of us won't stop until the Tower is well and truly exposed for what it is. Those who want to put faith in it after that, are more than welcome to it.

aren't non-profit, eh hum, corporations supposed to have records available to the public?

there's also that bs annual meeting that 'privileged' get invited to, last i heard it was held at the stanley theatre, which fulfills the requirement for non-profits to have their annual meeting.

maybe it differs state to state.

anyway, not to sure on the laws re: non-profits and public access, if it's a matter of physically going to a records office and requesting information or not.

Don't imagine that the money flows to an individual or a small group of people. The WTBTS is like the monster that ate New York. NOBODY is in charge and NO-ONE knows where all the money is. There will be an elite, however, who skim off a portion of the glory here and there.

Some capable lawyers have begun to unravel the pedophile issues over time.

Perhaps some capable lawyers can soob begin to unravel the financial underpinnings and where the money goes. Non-profits are supposed to be transparent - but this one is far from it - what do they hide and where? That is the question.

Open records, required by law? A question to direct to your local state agency or federal agency. I was told that this does not necessarily apply to all religious non-profit corporations. Is the Catholic Church required to open their financial records? Have they, even to this group of intrepid fighters against clergy sexual abuse?

Their president is a lawyer in Illinois and could be contacted through them for a legal viewpoint.
