My sister and I are there, but I have not heard of many of the 'friends' visiting. There are a couple of her true friends who make sure to visit. Really I cant blame the R&F for not visiting. To come and visit, is to look at proof that this Borg is so screwed up. So to salvage their fragile psychi, it is best to stick with the lip service typically given at the hall, when sick ones are mentioned. FYI she was baptized at the great '56 convention in new york and pioneered for more than half that time.

My mom is 76 and is infatuated with the Faithful Slave no matter that they have lied like hell to her for over 45 years.

That's not an uncommon thing. Most dubs are more worried about getting their "time in" than spending time with the ones that have fallen by the wayside.

The dubs are ordered to keep marching on to the utopia of the "new system" casting off the dead and dying. It reminds me of the Bataan death march in WW 2.

I have in my family those who have grown very old in this system. They are bewildered, they trully did not see this coming. It's very sad. But the "buck stops here", I'm "no spring chicken", but the rest of my life will be lived to the fullest. I enjoy every day and look forward to learning, changing and having new experiences for as long as I have strength. When my time is up, I'll have no regrets.

With my big head out the window>but perhaps she can learn from likes such as our own classy lady Mouthy. Life never stops it goes on and on.(said Zagor)Thanks sweetie I am so sorry about your Mum darling Darth
But when I was a JW I was" happy"THINKING I was doing Gods will. Of course I am MUCH happier now, Knowing I cant work for a faith... I think I am starting the alzheimers,,,,truly I forget so much lately...
Just remember something I TRULY believe ....Let God judge her reasons for being trappped. Who knows her heart. She sounds like a lady who wanted to slave for her God.... Unlike a lot of Christians( I do claim that position) I still believe the final Judge KNOWS more than we do....And we dont know it all. I believe MY God is more understanding than we give HIM credit for.
Look at David.... adultery, murder, Your Mum didnt do that ...a wolf captured her mind.Maybe in her final days God will say to that wolf "DROP HER""" Let the Great Shepherd deal with her ----I would talk to her about Jesus even though she may not understand.

Darth, I'm sorry about your Mom. Thank you for sharing. My mom is in her late 70's but lives and breathes the Brooklyn crap. It's hard to watch her get older and have more health problems. She will die being a dub, thinking she's been in the right religion. I try not to think about it, but when I do, I always hope she will wake up in heaven and be surprised. She has always been faithful to God no matter what religion she was, it's a shame she got caught up wasting her time and energy with this one. Take care

You have my sympathy and fellow-feeling, Darth.

My mom has Alzheimer's too. Tho she thinks it's 'oldtimer's' and we cannot disuade her.

She hasn't gotten really bad yet, but she was always a few cows short of a barn, electroshock in the fifties.

The dr's all told us (as if it were good news, mind you,) that with her other health issues, it's doubtful she'll live long enough for the oldtimer's to do its worst.

    Gee, thanks.

Hopefully the first thing she will forget is that she believes me not to be just AN evil slave, but THE evil slave.

    Roller
