My husband knows I frequent ex-jw sites because I have brought up different subjects. I've chosen to tell him I read and not post. He thinks I read things just to keep myself stirred up and hateful about dubs. They can't grasp the concept of needing support or they wouldn't be in a cult themselves.

My husband and I both left the jws organization together 20 years ago. The only one left in our family who is a dedicated dub is my husbands mother. She has never shunned us for leaving, in fact when we told her we were leaving she told us that we "take being a jw too seriously". Well she is one who always was a loyal dub but has lots of worldly friends and pretty much did what she wanted anyways. Her husband was a elder until the day he died. So.. sorry for the ramble,, but I don't have to hide and regularly show my husband what I learn here. We both are happy to know we really made the right decision for us and our kids when we officially left years ago.

GoingGoingGone
My husband knows I go online and read ex-JW related things, but I don't know if he realizes that I post on a forum. Either way, he never ever mentions it, and neither do I. Don't ask, don't tell.
I have a laptop that is mine exclusively, and I have a password on it so that no one else can access my history, favorites, etc. At first, my husband was angry that I put a password on my computer, but now he doesn't care. Quite honestly, I did it for his sake as much as for mine. I don't want to be antagonistic, and if he doesn't know what I'm reading, then he doesn't have to feel obliged to do anything about it, either. (Like turn me in... especially since he's an elder.) I think he realized that, too. I post from home, but usually only when he's at work or at meetings.

openly- I've been out long enough to not have an JW friends or acquaintances, but although my 80 year old mother is online, I'd never tell her about this place. Wouldn't want her to have a heart attack, although I do believe that she only stays because my father is so dedicated.

Openly. My family were never dubs, only one of my wife's relatives is still in. We've been out since 1988.

Poztate
I keep it a secret from my wife (long term..lifer... faithful dub) but my daughter posts here also (Mysterious)
I had JWD open one day and my wife walked in unexpectedly. I shut down in a flurry of activity and tried to look innocent.
My wife suspected something but thought it must have been PORN I was looking at. I never said anything to change her mind.
I am sure she would think porn was much better than being at a Poztateā¢ discussion site...
