It is time to heal, to restore ourselves, our communities, and our planet. It is time to remember and reclaim our power, to awaken and celebrate our spirit. It is time to discover and learn, to teach one another, and to share the truths we can each perceive with our own minds using our own eyes and our own ears. It is time to put our world back right.

Since leaving the JW's I have had alot of healing to do. I'm only just recently feeling like I'm awake, I have spirit, I am discovering and learning new things all the time, and enjoy being able to share these experiences with others, speak my mind, not what I've been told is acceptable from a publishing company.

Thanks for sharing that with us nvr.

eclipse: Which of these would you considered ''radical''? ...protests have also brought about good changes. Without some of the protest rallies in the past 20th century, things would of remained the same.

Except that, in the case of what ails us, radical surgery is not only unneccessary, but dangerous. There are surgeons who love to perform appendectomies, tonsillectomies, and heart surgery. They enjoy it so much they sometimes prescribe the "cure" without considering the patient. Sometimes those surgeries, though valuable in the right context, can kill. Protests work when those who govern us are making a serious error in judgement. When it comes to North America's spiritual health, however, THERE'S NO-ONE IN CHARGE.

I'm surprised and disappointed jgnat. I've never addressed you with anything but respect. I feel I'm getting a little less than that in return.

I feared you might react, considering the way you responded to my first outburst. I severely disagree with the quote you offered. Please don't confuse that with my opinion of you. Unless, of course, you identify so strongly with that quote that I might as well be attacking you.

If you disagree with my outlook on things, that's great. But please don't tell me what I've read or haven't read.

    Here's what you missed:

I would agree that it is good for each of us to re-evaluate our priorities, live noble lives, and connect to people in a genuine way. I would also agree that in North America at least, these higher ideals tend to be drowned out by the cacophony of a media-driven consumerism. It's a fight to live a great life....If our society is sick, it's by accident. If we want to make it well, it must be by individual choice and action.

Everyday, I experience "connections" of the type you describe. I think they've always been there. We are aware of them or we are not.

I thoroughly enjoyed the pm and again must tell you how much I respect your way of describing your faith AO.

I look forward to many interesting conversations with you.

    Thank you again.

I experience those "connections" too. To me, they are some of the "whispers".

Basically, there is a theory that humanity will do as it NEEDS (not wants).

If it NEEDS to take itself to the brink of destruction and pull itself back at the last minute - then it will.

If it NEEDS to have an Armageddon-like experience and be left with a smaller population - then it will.

Generally, the "collective conciousness" will get us where we NEED to be.

Just a theory - and not mine but good for specualtion, discussion etc.

I agree with this entire statement.

As for no one being in charge of North America's ''Spiritual Health", Do you believe someone should be in charge and dictate to everyone what type of spirituality they should have?

    Isn't that God's/Jesus' job?

So if the protest march is about an issue that you personally disagree with, you would consider it radical?

    Just wondering.

Not everyone is spiritual, or even believes in a higher power.

Protests do good. They aren't radical like the nutjob surgeons mentioned . Surgeries directly and immediately affect the patient.

    Protest marches do not.

If no one pays attention, then no change happens.

    Heavens no.

    Isn't that God's/Jesus' job?

As far as I can tell, God doesn't interfere with that either. It's called free will.

So if the protest march is about an issue that you personally disagree with, you would consider it radical?

No. If the protest march were about something the government has no responsibility for, I consider it stupid...and radical.

Protests do good. They aren't radical like the nutjob surgeons mentioned . Surgeries directly and immediately affect the patient.

Not all protests do good either. I say, use the most effective tool for the ailment.

If no one pays attention, then no change happens.

I have a severe dislike of ineffective, illogical movements. Change also happens without anyone paying attention.

Lookee here. I've had a twenty-plus years as a civil servant. I've seen laws and regulations that were useful and needed. I've also seen private members' bills that are plainly stupid. You don't want to wake the sleeping beast that is public democracy in this country. There are just as many stupid leaders as smart ones. Do you know what the end result of a successful protest is? A bloody commission. After the commission exhausts all sources of funds for public consultation and state dinners, they write a report. If our duly elected leaders deem the protest valid, they write up new legislation. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's very, very bad. I've seen the result of en-masse government policy change, and I've seen a lot of people get hurt in the process. I don't trust revolution in the hands of our publicly elected leaders.

Now, the author of this rant, as far as I can tell, is blaming unfettered wealth on the spiritual poverty of the nation. First of all, the wrong target has been selected. Second of all, how would you legislate it? Don't you dare give the government the idea they can tax a new source of funds... the very drivers of new industry and innovation in our nation! Our stupid government would drive North America in to spiralling poverty.

I'll re-iterate the part of this rant I agree with. Where in there do I mention spirituality at all?

I would agree that it is good for each of us to re-evaluate our priorities, live noble lives, and connect to people in a genuine way. I would also agree that in North America at least, these higher ideals tend to be drowned out by the cacophony of a media-driven consumerism. It's a fight to live a great life....If our society is sick, it's by accident. If we want to make it well, it must be by individual choice and action.

We have power, as individuals, to affect national change. The internet helps. I have other ideas, but I don't think you are prepared to listen.
