True their are JW's that don't think they are great otherwise they wouldn't stay to cop the abuse, we are told to be humble like such and such, there are those self righteous type in all denominations, but because the JW goes door to door it apears they have the top spot.

Along with your comment, I was always irritated when I heard them use the expression "he or she is so spiritual". Well, if you live in a human body you are not spiritual at all. A more correct description is that you are a physical person with an appreciation for spiritual things.
Of course, to most uneducated and deluded JWs, spiritual is just another way of saying "theocratic". This over-used and mis-used word "theocratic" is just another way of saying you are following the party line.

thanks for the book recommendation, i'm purchasing it right now.
i love 'the explanation' about when i bring up how many people act like a$$holes in the borg, and i'm always told something to the effect that these people have troubled lives and jehovah attracted them to the truth, essentially that i should give their idiotic behaviour a break b/c they're 'believers' as well.
but, i have a pretty strict policy against hanging out with idiots, no matter what their faith. and that's another thing that pinged me when i decided to fade, i was taking night classes and i had a real prick of a teacher, so i dropped the class b/c i didn't want to spend quality time learning something i enjoyed by someone who was clearly going to mess with my creativity, then a light bulb went off in my head, why am i spending so much time listening to the same talks over and over when it's boring, i don't care about it, and some of the things the brothers were saying were really bad and unloving.

One witness told me that having the News on TV, after I said it's just filled with all negative BS, helps them to keep up on current topics to go preaching with.
So, this too, is the mind set. Everyone else in the world is bad, evil, destructive, murderers, thiefs, adulterers, druggies, fornicators, etc, etc. They THINK and are lead to believe that this is ALL of the rest of the world for some reason. Proves that they love to prey on the sad, miseable, depressed people out there. They use the negativity to draw people in.
This can contribute to them thinking they are above the rest as well.
