What is it that you and your family eat?

Do you have a certain cooking pattern, or ethnic preference?

When I cook, I make many Mexican dishes - such as Quesadillas, Enchiladas. All with Spanish rice and homemade guacamole, etc..... Summertime is when I grill out. I do alot of my own personal made up recipes, like my butter garlic and parsley grilled chicken w/ roasted baby red potatoes mixed.

I've always been one to cook, never really cooked to eat, just love cooking.

Again, what do you all like to eat?

    I'm a meat eater

I eat mostly the same things all the time and I never get fed up.

Beef, chicken, hamburgers, club sandwich, Poutine, fries, pizza, submarine sandwich, spaghetti, lasagna.

And coke with each meal to wash it down.

A lot of stirfrys, cassaroles, fried pork or broil (got a great recipe for grilled chilpote chops from a good friend), crock pot beans, salads with chicken or steak, roasted chicken, and my husband just learned how to smoke meat on his grill - yummy. Oh and we tend to eat a lot of rice.

I try to make most of what I cook kid friendly.

I do a lot of Chicken an fish, I only eat baked or grilled (trying to be healthy), rice is a must. When I was growning up we had rice with each meal (Dad from Louisianna mom Mexican) somethings you just never get rid of .

My kids love my Chicken Pot Pie and baked Macaroni.

I love all food except for real greasy stuff (like fatty bratwurst and sausages) and liver and I won't eat lamb or veal. Won't eat baby anything.

I used to cook for 6 people and now that the kids are moved out I only cook for two. So it took a lot of scaling down w/my recipes. I make casseroles, and use my slow cooker for various recipes, Italian dishes (my favorite), tacos, pizza, stir frys, salads, steaks and hamburgers, chicken fixed various ways, baked fish, stuffed pork chops, cheese/onion omelets, BQed beef or pork ribs.

I love yogurt w/Bare Naked granola. It's the best. Also, a lot of fruit which I pile on my Wheaties or Kashi in the morning.

Desserts? Anything chocolate, banana cream pie and good melons are my favorites.

Drink? Always iced water and an occasional margarita or any other fruity drink w/vodka. No soda pop.

Anyone have a good recipe for Chicken salad? My hubby loves it but mine never comes out quite like I would like it to.

Well, I'm sorta an amateur chef... Cooking is one of my great passions. My favorite things are Italian food, and BBQ, and also some of the southern dishes. I've got a great recipe for Cavatelli, Steak Deburgo, and my BBQ baked beans were accepted by Jack Daniels recently to be published in the their BBQ book. I recently got a smoker, and that consumes a lot of my weekend time it seems. I eat lots of pork, a little chicken, and very little beef. Beef is a little too "heavy" for me anymore, seems that every time I eat it, it takes forever to digest. So as much as I love steak, I rarely eat it anymore.
