There are a lot more men in senior government positions and generally in politics than there are women. The same applies in the world of business few companies would trust women in senior positions such as CEOs.
Men are physically tougher than women though this doesn't mean much in the modern world where machine do most of the physical work. Otherwise women are not capable of meeting physically demanding tasks such as chopping down trees or laying bricks. So they were excused from such chores.

It may seem to many that women have it "well" in the western world, that does not hold true for everyone. Some people may have resentment over minor stupid perks like women getting free drinks or some benefits of affirmative action in some jobs.
I do realize that men bear the horrible obligation of going to war and bear much financial responsibility in the home, so I am not saying things are peachy for them either. There are different benefits for each sex.
While, things are somewhat better in todays western world for women in general, and I would never want to live in a non-western society or in past ages where women died like flies in childbirth, I would definitely say men have it better all around. It is basically a man's world.
