Middlechild said,
there was a talk at my sister's hall where they were told to write down their top 5 friends. then they were to see what those friends could do for them spiritually. well my sister said that she just couldn't see how i could fit into her friends' list because i couldn't do anything to upbuild her spiritually.
What a wonderful way to "clean out" the deadwood. If they can't do things for you, who needs em? I think five is really too many. Can that many really be next to perfect in always being "up" and "spiritual" in every way? We can't count ones who have bad days and need our help, because they wouldn't be "doing things for us spiritually."
This is the way the WTS is going. No one is good enough. You must examine everyone you know. The ones with faults cannot be associated with. The ones who miss meetings on occasion-no! The ones who are not taking the lead in the ministry-not spiritual enough! The ones who do not have their WT underlined-horrors! Do they in fact have a cleaning job or would they be (gasp) materialistic? Is every child sitting perfectly still at every meeting taking notes even though they are only six months old?
Even your sisters. Perhaps you could advise them to evaluate each other. It seems that on occasion they are less than the "ideal" witness. I suggest that each one of them consider the other "not spiritual" enough.
I am sure that they will have less friends now because if they ever need help from anyone in the KHall, they will unfortunately show themselves as ones who are not at the ready to "upbuild spiritually," and risk losing them.
