Guilt over a happy marriage

    Numinous:

I have also heard happily married , "unevenly yoked" sisters say, "I am happy now, but we will be separated at Armegeddon and I will pay for my disobedience then. This is a real sore point with me.

I think you hit it for me. My thoughts entirely!

I've known happily married sisters worry about their husbands - and sometimes their children, too - for not being in the Lie and, even after 30 years, still hopeful that their example will encourage them to get baptised.

Here's yet another example of Watchtower-induced emotional blackmail robbing couples of the greater joy they could have had!

If given the opportunity, half the witnesses would divorce their "mate" if it wouldn't be considered an act of disobedience.

I could not tell you how many couples I know personally that have split up. Soooo many. They get married young and by 30 are done. And others I know that are still together, guess what the wives tell my wife??? You guessed it!! They're miserable and wish that they didnt get married at all.

I know one sister that stayed married for 8 years to an elder and they had absolutely no love for each other, they didnt even like each other. She finally couldnt take it and cheated on him so he would leave her!

Frequent Fader, Mr. Flipper here. I find in being a fading witness, being married to a nonwitness is wonderful. First of all, I'm with a woman who accepts me, my hobbies, doesn't try to make me feel that I'm a bad person for listening to Led Zeppelin, or watching R-rated movies. She is a wonderful person inside and out, 24 hours a day. She doesn't just turn on the charm at the kingdom hall, then act terrible in the privacy of our home when others aren't looking, as my ex did. She is an easy person to be with 24/7, love of my life. What could be better than that? That sister needs to have her head examined for fearing what others in the congregation think about her being married to a nonwitness. Who bloody cares? Mr. Flipper of the happy with my worldy wife class.(Borrowing from snakesthere).LOL
