According to Good Morning, America, the happiest people on earth are citizens of Denmark. I have never been to Scandinavia, but it is definitely one of the best regions of the world except for the weather (imho).
Hawaii is a wonderful place, with natural beauty and beautiful, happy, easygoing people.
As far as the places I've been, I really liked London and Victoria, BC. I live in one of my favorite spots in the U.S., Reno. People here are open and accepting, the weather is good (with 4 seasons), jobs are plentiful though it takes some searching to find a really good job. It's a good base to visit other western states. There are many historical sites in the area, good cultural events, good skiing, golf, water sports and hiking; and, of course, drinking, gambling and other unsavory activities for those who seek those things. Something for everyone sums it up. The downside is too much growth too fast and housing that has become less affordable for first-time buyers.

Australia rates higher GDI (rating on living conditions) that USA.
I've always wanted to live there, and have done much research on getting there. I'm going to move, its my dream!
