Note to Admins: This JWD account may be deleted after this post.
I have created this temp account as a further attempt to remain anonymous with this posting.
An internal resource has revealed that the following has been discussed at jw hq:
Specific wording may be used in letters and local versions of the new magazines in a effort to determine information leaks.
This means that wts could send out general topic letters with peculiarities to indicate specific locations.
So letters and articles which are quoted verbatim or posted directly could possibly lead to its source.
This has been discussed at the top ranks of bethel, but there is no confirmation of its implementation.
A similar arrangement already happens with the kingdom ministry.
Be careful going forward!

Thank you JWD temp. I may be wrong, but this smells suspiciously like cult behavior.

It is actually standard tradecraft for an intelligence agency trying to catch a mole.
It was used on Ames in the CIA, and on Hanssen in the FBI.
And teenage girls use it, too. "Well, you were the only one I told that part to, Jennifer!!!" -

I figured it had a name, just like the disinformation campaign is the "red herring."
Well, folks, after a quick search, I found that this one is called a canary trap.
Nice try, GB. -

Many years ago, a CO told me this would be a tool to uncover moles but the loving org would never do this because it means mistrusting your brothers. However, while I can imagine they do this with certain letters I do not see them do it with the magazines.

Very very interesting if this is true!!!!
I hope all of our friends that have positions in the org stay on the alert.
Those who leak us information might want to consider leaking it through another member on the board that is out of the org. The information can be rewritten to discuss the main points and the leaker is totally untraceable. -
outoftheorg?
No matter how or where they use this or try to use it, it is an act of desperation. I couldn't be more pleased to know this.
Thanks for the info.

I find this hard to believe. We all know the Hoollyy Spiirrriitt can easily find those moles and smite them on the spot.

Looks like another outbreak of apostate paranoia/megalomania to me.
Apart from the obvious problem of managing such a scheme, can I just say for a minute please: get a hold of yourselves.
