    Dawg,

Your post just got my attention.

    Do the math!

Your info says that you are 44 years old. You say you lived with an asian woman 25 years your junior. You lived with her for 4 years.

    44 - (25 + 4) = 15

How old was she when you started living with her? I am truly weirded out.

For a variety of reasons, one of them being the same reason the younger party feels secure in a mind control cult--to be told what to do by others who claim to be more experienced and wise....to not have to take personal responsibility for one's life by substituting "just following orders" like the Nazis.

My 19 yr old friend (who was emotionally about age 13 or so) marrying a 39 yr old purported virgin with admitted pedophile leanings...that was one of the main catalysts for me and at least 2 others leaving the borg.

We were seated together at the wedding reception & were moping around, so sad and horrified for our friend...and some older ladies at our table said, "Don't worry, don't be jealous! You will find a brother soon!" We tried to explain we were sad b/c of the age difference and overall sick nature of the relationship, but they refused to believe it and said we were just jealous

No fess up, you were jealous ! No, I understand a friend had his girlfriend do the same thing to him she claimed that my friend wasn't spiritual enough for her. She was 19 and he was 30 something and this was to her a spiritualy motivated marrige. He must of been one BS artist.

For the same reason that a non-JW would ... Daddy issues and/or Desparation

Of course, that's over simplifying it a bit but I would bet 9 out of 10 would point you right back to 1 both core reasons.

PS. And dont think I am judging. I had to heal my own daddy issues just not in the same way. And when I was in the troof I was given opportunity to date much older men many times. Thank goodness it didn't turn out like that.

Well, I usually like men about 10 years older than myself.....I dunno.....maybe it's the whole 'father figure'. If people are truly in love, then who cares.

However, in this religion there are definitely alterior motives for many 'younger' sisters marrying 'older' brothers. Case in point is one in my old Hall. She had been married to a guy and had a son by him. All was fine, but then her hubby took off several years ago and got DF'd. Even though she got alot of sympathy, it's a well known fact that in this religion, single sisters over the age of 20 are viewed either with suspicion, or just plain ignored. The only way you can change this is by pioneering. So this sister went on Mothers Allowance for several years and pioneered until her son turned 18 and she got cut off. Since the religion frowns so much on improving yourself by way of education (especially for a woman) she moaned loud and long to anyone who would listen about having to work for a living and did nothing to try and improve her situation. Then, one of the elder's wives died. This guy was 20 years older than her and it was a well known fact that he always had a roving eye for younger women. Anyway, they were married within the year.

Why did she marry him? No doubt for financial reasons (she quit her job the day they got engaged), but also for the social status. Not only was her hubby to be an elder, he became the PO which meant she would go from being an absolute nothing in the congregation, to being The First Lady. Does she love her husband? I seriously doubt it. She married for social and financial reasons.

Dawg, the math problem really weirded me out too.

As far as I can tell, this thread is specifically about trends among jws, not about ex-jws.

Cultists have different motives for their actions than non-cultists and ex-cultists, so the same yardstick doesn't apply.

Mary, too bad I'm only 7 years older than you.

    1. sisters outnumber brothers in the org.

    2. Older men know how to please women and tend to be less selfish.

The first time I had sex I lasted about 1.5 seconds. Now I will not climax unless I have pleased her first. Patience, technique, lasting longer. Many younger women know this about men
