I like being of a crowd but it never last for long. Even when I was a kid, if I was hanging around a group and they wanted to do something that I didn't want to do I wouldn't do it. Happened over and over again. I'm still that way. I can't just follow the crowd.
Social Influence: Are You An Individual Or One Of The Crowd?

I do my own thing, which doesn't mean I do not at times "conform", it's my choice to do so or not.

If you belong to one of the various syndicate’s (believer, atheist ), can you take a stand for
what you believe in even though it may not be popular with the “in crowd.”In other words, are you an individual or one of the crowd? Explain.
I would say that most are here because of this, in that each took or is taking a stand against what was once the ultimate of "in" crowds, regardless of the divergence of chosen belief each now chooses or popluarity of same.
In other words, we're all individuals. But you know what they say about birds of a feather.

OK, I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing that most, if not all of us on here are "individuals", whether we are now Athiests or Born Again Christians. The reason I say that, is because if we were all of the type to just be "one of the crowd", we'd all still be in the Organization.
Am I correct in thinking this?

Dear Mary:
I think you have a point. However, I have noticed that
certain individuals that subscribe to one of these
syndicates, believer, unbeliever, atheist, evolutionist,
tend to follow the crowd in their beliefs.
What I am asking is whether or not an individual can
separate themselves of the popular viewpoints or
opinions of one of these crowds at the price of
going "against" the popular belief and the "in crowd".
Respectfully,

I don't rate. All I get to do is make posts.
Who do I havta talk to around here to be able to get my threads counted as "articles".
See, I'm individual. Right up there I chose to slam you for your delusions of granduer despite running the risk of being thought of as mean.
See how I did that?
Cool, huh?

That's a very good question. I like to think I'm an individual but I am part of a "crowd". I speak french and english so to be unique on those maters I would have to invent my own language. For belief I would have to invent my own "religion" and so on.. So I think it's a little bit of both. I think some of us are more "original" then others and some are more part of the crowd then others but in the end we are all equal in our differences. I do believe that it's very important to have freedom of thought, which is not possible wen you are in a religion or a group like the JW.

I have never fit in anywhere.
I'm a misfit.
I am a loner.
I like being around people, but I never feel like one of them.

Remember when Zubaz was such a fad?
This thread reminds me of a billboard I once saw, encouraging everybody to "BE DIFFERENT - WEAR ZUBAZ"
(That's why there are fads, I suppose.)
