Well, it's now clear Sound of Music should be on the list of banned wordly entertainments.

Too Catholic, for one thing. That "steeple" reference. And then there's that lusty goatherd... who knows what he might be doing up there?

Boy, you 'postates really are in pits of dense spiritual darkness. Good thing I've still got plenty of dubbiness left in me to keep the nausea up around here.

I can't believe nobody's picked up on what's so bad 'bout the Sound of Music.

It's not the "So Long, Farewell," song.

It's that horribly nationalistic battle hymn: "Eidelweiss". Yeah, it's all about a beautiful alpine flower, but it's also the Austrian National Anthem. ( or at least that's the dubby "urban legend" I've always been told. Being a good dub I've never bothered to actually verify this.)

Phew. Another "get together" saved from the clutches of Satan. Barely.

The phrase in one song "doe a deer a female deer" is clearly the non-theocratic line.

This line encourages animalistic behavior and gives honor that should be given to god.

Yes , just think of those jack booted Nazis and Catholic Nuns , it all sounds Very untheocratic to me.....after all we can't be too careful in these wicked times.......

But ...I agree ! lets ban that awful film...I hated it . I hated her supersweet smile and terribly English voice .And most of all I hated the cheesey music......aaagh!!

Hi music lovers everyone,

When I began to doubt the Watchtower lies the Sound of Music had just been released and every other member of the congo had been to see it and raved about it .At the time it was not my type of film or music, because Hard Days Night and Help had got my attention. I new what the film was about and I could not understand why my fellow Witnesses male and female would enjoy a film about a catholic nun. I guessed that they must have been rejoicing because Julie Andrews ,in the film, left the monastry and turned away from the life in a religious order which was under the direction of the devil. Seen the film a few times since those days and quite liked it.

Mary, you have got me yodelling from out my wide open window and I can't seem to stop.

Blondie you have got me waltzing round the room with a chair to "fascination" please could you sing " La Vie En Rose " and I will be enraptured ,if I can stop myself from tripping over: My wife has just walked in and asked me what am I doing with the chair I have had to tell her that I am practising lion taming ready for the new world ; " Hold me close and hold me fast, the magic spell you cast, This is La Vie En Rose. When you kiss me heaven sighs and though I close my eyes I see la Vie En Rose.
