When I decided to quit, I could feel the burden come off me. My happiness, self-worth, and confidence got better and better!

    NO!

Have you overcome the feeling that you're not quite good enough?

    YES!

Do you feel better about yourself now that you've stopped associating with Witnesses?

    YES!

They tried that crap on me. If I could do an amount of service and it wasn't making me sick, that wasn't enough. And if I did get sick from doing more and cut back because of that sickness, it was a horrible sin to cut back. After all, you never cut back on Jehovah!

Now, I have no obligation to lift a finger for them. They let me down in so many ways, and now I will not lift a finger to help them no matter how desperate they become. And I realized that "salvation" was into a stagnated life, not into a paradise. If Jehovah is not fulfilling my needs and wants that could be fulfilled without any sacrifice to His principles (and could in fact enhance them), there is no way I am going to fulfill His selfish wants that require me to give up my life and accept hardships.

As for the oppression of the Devil, I have not experienced that, either. I simply do those satanic things as I get the means to do so. At first, it was just shredding all the Puketower magazines I had left, and stopping service. Then, I had to clean out my closet of all those worn-out suits I got from someone else, without any guilt that some of the suits cost more than $1,000 new (they were in bad condition). Then the Ouija board. Then the computer, with high-speed Internet at a cost of $820. Then, I gradually started ordering Christmas decorations to replace the ones I had to throw away when I joined the cult, just doing what I could as I could afford it (and getting better ones than the ones I threw out).

Of the two, I have found that the Watchtower Society is far more oppressive than the Devil. At least with the Devil, I am not going out in service and being told that it's not good enough. So far, I have not received any e-mails from Bronner's or Christmas Mouse telling me that I'm not doing enough.

This is a loaded question for me.

I don't have an ounce of WTS guilt left, they are a fraud and a scam that I am so totally over.

If the WTS was an old, rickety bus, Guilt would be the fuel and shame would be the motor oil.

I do bear a heavy burden of guilt for a number of things I have done that I regret, but they have nothing to do with the JW's.

They are the ones who should feel guilt.

No guilt. They should be the ones to feel guilty for breeding millions of dependent, weak minded robots who are taught to pass the buck and blame the devil for their problems in life but blame themselves for nothing they have done wrong at all (never doing enough to please gawd. They are incapable of taking responsibility for their own lives and events in them. They call everything that goes wrong in their lives a "test from Satan" rather than stupid acts and decisions on their parts. They are the ones who created the need for SOME (capitalized so I don't get yelled at) JWs on welfare. Everything that has ever happened in my life, except for childhood and the horrible crime against me one time, was MY fault. I don't blame others for them anymore, but I also don't feel guilty as I know to and how to fix my problems and get on with my life.

I must have been a crappy JW because I never felt guilty about anything.
