  Did you know that the WTS taught that 6,000 years of human history ended in 1975................? That a creative day is 7,000 years long; 6,000 plus 1,000 = end of creative day. Are we 32 years into the Millennial rule of Christ?

  This is one of those things that shows me how they manipulate their teachings and keep the rank-and-file under
  control. (In other words- they know they are acting like a cult.)

  They implant this thought without much comment, so that people who were "in" in 1975 can continue to think the
  WTS was correct all along, but a few over-zealous members went too far. Those same older folks can believe the
  end must be imminent because of what they taught shortly after 1975 about Eve's creation ending the creative day.

  At the same time, the lack of comment allows them to say "We don't teach that a creative day is 7000 years long
  or that we are awaiting the end of the 7th creative day around the time Eve is 6000 years old.

  So will hospitality to the elders and CO/DO get you appointed an elder?

  It can only help. Without it, you better have a babe for a wife and a minivan for service.

  Are the "remnant" kings on earth today? Do they have the ability like David to offer positions in the royal court to anyone?

  Recent WT articles have downplayed the remnant. They are nothing special, many don't
  qualify to be elders or the women in this group need to remain secondary to the baptized
  males who are 9 years old.
  GB members do offer positions in the royal court.

  18) Jehovah treasures your whole-souled service regardless of how much or how little you can do. Despite what may be happening to `the man outside' as one ages, 'the man inside' can be renewed from day to day. (2 Corinthians 4:16) There is no doubt that Jehovah appreciates what you have accomplished in the past, but it is eminently clear that he also appreciates what you are doing right now for his name.

  Before we conclude, we wanted to reiterate in para. 18 that you older ones must continue doing
  all that you can to sell WT literature. No matter what you did in the past, "it is eminently clear that
  [the organization of Jehovah] also appreciates what you are doing right now for [their] name"- the
  continual sacrifice of your social security to get those magazines out there.

  Robert222, it is so sad; I always made a point to help older people at the KH when I was younger. I found they were just young people that life had played a trick on, inside they stayed young, but their outside aged.

  OTWO, thanks for the inside view. I knew that the remnant have little input; most of the ones in the congregations are women anyway. Only men count in the WTS.

  hi, rules, yes, young jws or unbaptized younger jws, have less invested in the WTS and can find it easier to leave. The longer you are in, the more you have to lose.

  Thanks for your efforts Blondie!

  One thing that bugged me while I was still 'in', was the change in counting time for older ones, to quarter hours. This was presented as a loving provision from Jehovah! If they didnt insist on treating it like a business and followed the way Jesus and his disciples preached, then these older ones would never have felt bad they they couldnt do enough in the first place. PHARISEES!
