So I made my first cake tonight. This is the very first time I've tried this ever so be merciful. Someone asked for pictures and here ya go:

Rose Beranbaum says you should use dutch-processed cocoa to make chocolate cakes. I cheated and used Hershey's because I couldn't find the other. But this afternoon I found it on King Arthur's website --- yay! I can't wait to try it and see the difference.
Beautiful cake-I'd pay $$$ for it. Baking is one thing, decorating takes skills I haven't got. You did a great job.
