Sushi, probably not weird for CA, funny thing is I don't like fish. If fish is not fresh enough to eat raw, I don't eat it.

Back in the thirties my mother was having a sleepover with her friends and they were daring each other to eat the weirdest food combos they could think of. One actually turned out to be quite delicious and mom continued to eat them to this day, introducing all of us kids to it.
We, in turn introduced friends, and never had anyone not like it.
Peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches.
You gotta generously peanut butter both pieces of bread, and cut the pickles into planks.
Perfect combination of sweet and tart.
Snowbird: Tomatoes possess a natural narcotic that goes straight to the pleasure center of your brain. No wonder they helped you so much!

This is my latest invention. Onigiri are Japanese rice cakes - not packing-peanuts-and-glue, but cakes-of-cooked rice.
The ones pictured in this link are made of wild red rice and Korean black rice, both as sticky as the traditional white short-grain rice. Well-made onigiri stay clumped together long enough to get from the plate to your mouth.
And none of these three varieties have any particular flavor; it's all about the texture.

They had kangaroo at the supermarket a few months ago so I decided to try it. I was the only one who ate the kangaroo meat. It is a big export earner and is sold all over the world. Kangaroos are a big pest here in Australia there are allways dead ones on the side of the road that have been hit by cars.

Ostrich meat is very popular here. The meatt is very lean and is red. Texture is a lot like steak. Yum

French Fry sandwiches (anyone from England will understand this). My mom used to make home made french fries. Then you get two pieces of white bread, butter it (cause you know, there's not enough grease on the fries), put some malt vinager and sea salt on the french fries, lay them out on the bread, cut in half and fight your siblings for it.
Haven't had this in years but man, we used to love eating this when we were kids!

Here in Seattle we have an annual Seafood Festival, and alligator-on-a-stick is something I seek out each year.

deep fried bull testicles
I was in a Chinese Restaurant one time and ordered the Ginger Beef. They provided Ginger Beef testicles. I ate them in homage to V'ger and the principle of "carbon units." (Not to be confused with "carbon eunuchs.")

THIS is fascinating! Do you consume mass quantities of the fresh herb unadorned, or do you prepare it in some way? Does consumption of so much rosemary have any effect on you? I like the herb but never considered eating a handful of it.

If a place is selling calamari, I'll order it. Years ago there was a place on the wharf in Monterey, California called "Abalonetti's" - they took the calamari and pounded it out like one would do with a veal cutlet. You could cut it with a fork. They also had calamari bourguignon and stuffed calamari similar to stuffed ziti (pasta). A great place that should have franchised.
