How Google Proves The Watchtower is Deliberately Lying

At one time, doing deep research took a lot of time. You might have to visit a particular library in a

particular city. You might have to order books or published papers on a desired topic and wait weeks

for delivery. It was hard to do.

    But that was the PAST!

Now, any idiot with a high speed internet connection can instantly "google" almost any obscure topic

and gather more information in 2 minutes than he could previously in 2 months. This is a huge change

and I've noticed that even highly educated academics have not 'caught up' to this incredible change

in society. You can attend a lecture by a Ph.D and nearly have a complete rebuttal printed by the

    time they finish speaking.

My particular point here is this: the claim that Watchtower writers are sincere but misled must be

false. The disceptions found in the magazines , especially about science, MUST be deliberately

crafted because it is increasingly impossible to ignore contrary information that bursts on to your

    computer screen almost instantly.

Let me give you an example: suppose a recent Awake speaks against the evolution of birds ( July).

It argues that one fossil find was a hoax, that no one thinks that Archaeopteryx is a missing link

and that no one one knows how feathers could develop in stages. This material must be carefully

selected because even a quick web search will tell you what nonsense is being printed here.

In seconds you can prove that the Awake is garbage. Specifically, scientists can prove that a

fossil is a hoax and which are NOT - and that the hoax may have happened because China is simply

digging up heaps of real bird-like fossils and someone thought that one phoney one wouldn't get

noticed. As for Archaeopteryx, one of the latest Skeptic magazines cites it as a transitional fossil

( it's a bird, with teeth, for God's sake!). As for feathers, lots of bird-dinosaurs had them, not for

flying, but for insulating their bodies - like ostriches, emus, penguins, dodos and many others.

Clearly, the Society is heavily depending on the inertia and ignorance of the publishers NOT to spend

2 minutes in looking this stuff up. More importantly, this evidence of deliberate deception may

foretell the erosion of the Watchtower Society because it is now forced to increasingly operate while

bearing the burden that its doctrines are blatantly false. This is a very onerous and depressing

position to be in and morale can quietly collapse over time - perhaps leading to surprizing outcomes!

This is why the WTBTS doesn't want the Bros and Sisters to use the Internet.

NO information from the Internet to be used in talks.

My wife's CO has written to the Branch about me using the Internet.

Thank goodness for the Internet and GOOGLE.

The demonization of the internet at the meetings used to always bother me as well. I know dad taunts my mom by telling her it's amazing what you can find on google tehse days with vague reference to the watchtower. My mother at least knew enough about the internet to realize that it was a tool that could be used for good as well as bad.

    Good points, metatron.

I would like to add one nuance: the information that is overflooding your computer is not all of the same quality. In the information age, people need critical thinking skills more than ever to filter the information and discard the junk.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. The thread before yours about Russell being a mason is a perfect example. I quote from the site it links to:

The Jehovah Witnesses are a Satanic organization, based upon the occult of Freemasonry

    source: http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/Jehovah%20Witnesses/jw.htm

I'm sure you understand this is bs. But it's wrong to say that this site is lying to us, although there are rebuttals to these claims on the internet. But unfortunately, the writers of this article are under their own sort of ideology.

Now the writers of the watchtower do not have critical thinking skills either (where should they learn that? tms? :) If you're so under the spell of wt ideology it is only natural that you discard the *right* information, and come up with the junk in the magazines, even while believing it yourself. Your information filter is defect, so to speak.

Of course this is not saying they shouldn't do something about it!

Unless, as one poster suggested, the WTS becomes like the Amish, and withdraws from society in general, your postulations may indeed be true. People are more bored today than they used to be - note the ability to have 300 channels on the television - with 'nothing to watch'.

All that boredom makes people investigate things they used to accept as fact. Google and other search engines make it easier than it has ever been in human history to do so. Sincere searchers for facts will soon uncover the lies the WTS has spread. Still it often takes more than that.

I believe theimpetus to do so, for Witnesses must be a realization that the 'spiritual paradise' is not what it is supposed to be, and this gives most the mental excuse to 'take a look'. When they do, we usually get to meet them here on JWD or similar places.

One of the things that pushed me over the edge:

I started googling anonymous quotes (Ex. "One noted bible researcher stated:...") I found often the quote would be attrib'd to a preacher of CHRISTENDOM!!! That really chapped my hide. They purposfully didnt give refs on those quotes. But google knew who they were! :D

Yah it is real interesting how the WTBTS book publishing corporation wants to be the only search engine for the j-dubs by gleaning only information that they can agree with from outside or (satanic) sources , of course we all know that anything outside the realm of the WTBTS is satanic according to themselves. I totally hate the way they will make reference to an individual but won't mention a name , what kind of cop out is that? or is that just fear of being sued ?

I think it's too late for them to "go Amish". Such groups need a high degree of physical isolation,

although, by keeping most Witnesses exhausted, uneducated and incapable of critical thinking,

they've done very well for themselves. I think the "killer" here is that they are forced to operate

thinly stretched across the globe, with donations that don't keep pace with needs and few people

they can count on with actual working brains. This isn't likely to get better.
