    Hilary_Step,

What about you? What is it that you do?

Don't tell me that you are busy sewing mail-bags! Have you met Jeffery Archer yet?

    Maybe you are Jeffery Archer!

    Englishman.

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be....

I work as a secretary for a state agency. Nobody works here and I'm with a union which makes it impossible to get fired.

Mwahahahaha! Who could ask for more?

Joel - I'm in sales as well. As long as I'm hitting my numbers, my boss doesn't care if I only work 10 hours a week to do it. Besides he lives and offices several hundred miles away.

(((Essie))) - You had my dream job! I've always wanted to have my own portrait studio. One of these days...

Julie - Oh wait. You have my dream job. Sorry. Just read your post! (((())))

Andi...well it wasn't quite that much of a dream! *LOL* I didn't own the studio, and they booked appointments every 20 minutes maximum so if you had a cranky baby or worse, cranky parent, it got real ugly, real fast.

The last day I worked there, a woman hit her son because he wasn't "smiling correctly." She nearly knocked him off the posing table.

It wasn't the first time I saw a child threatened with a beating to keep them from squirming, and I thought, how could you look at the picture after that, knowing what you said to them?

I used to be a people person. work-wise. That job pretty much took that out of me. If I was able to work now, I'd much rather hole up in a little room/cubicle/library somewhere and never see the light of day, or another person while I worked *lol*

course, if you had your own studio, you could call all the shots, eh? :) I recommend taking pictures of inanimate objects *lol* But then, maybe you can get Julie's job *LOL* :)

    Hi Eman,

lol - Jeffrey Archer! I hear he finally got his. Rather reminds me of the words of another political rake Horatio Bottomley, jailed for fraud in the 1920's. A visitor passed his cell as he stitched his mailbags and remarked 'Ah, Bottomley, sewing?' - No Sir, he replied 'reaping'.

As to my work, music, art, reviews, books, some published poetry occasionally. These days I really just work for the taxman. In my trade you have a good year and pay tax on it for the next ten!

    Best regards - HS

I'm a photographer. I think Julie and I should team up on a book project.

    Hi Six,

What kind of photography do you do?

I'm a writer/photographer. More of the former than the later. Most of my writing is of the technical variety, like a "care and feeding" technical manual for a magnetic resonance imaging system and such like as that. I'm also in the midst of writing a book on a particular form of ocean life. It's a living, but when do I get on the top ten list?
