With all the cheating spouses out there. I would think the being married or not wouldn't make much difference in your STD risk.

Hey Kerj, I know what you are talking about. This particular test where they stick a cotton swab in your urethra is for gonorrhea and chlamydia. It's done when they think you could be at risk of having them. Usually, they do a urine test but it seems that the cotton swab test is more accurate because it gets cells from your urethra. I've had it done twice and it didn't hurt so much as it felt weird. After the test was done and I went home, every time I closed my eyes, I kept seeing the cotton swab going in and feeling the comfortableness I felt when the test was being performed. My teeth cringed lol But it wasn't that bad. Both times it came back neg. But it's weird your doctor made have the test without you telling her of any "symptoms". Usually they don't just do it right then and there. But it's good they came back neg. P.S. whoever said "use a condom", well using a condom reduces the risk but doesn't really prevent std's 100% because some of the std's are contagious by skin-to-skin contact. So if you have "symptoms", even if you've used protection each and every time, they do the tests but treat you for the "possibility" of having the std's. So they just give you a penicillin shot for gonorrhea and tablets for chlamydia. justahuman - but super nonetheless

Ouch! I guess we ladies have it easy when it comes to testing procedures.
