Do the hours of the JW's reflect their actual preaching? (page 3)

Really nice posts on this one. The outcome for is that indeed hours do not represent the actual preaching.

And since WT is focusing on hours then the rank and file will go for hours. Not for God's message to the people. So focusing on wrong target it is the real issue.

On the other hand WT's "good news" have not reached to the ears of many people. Even in my country that the ratious is about 350 to 1. Now that I left I ask people(friends etc. etc) what do they know about JW's.

If they have a relative JW they could give you some tips, but most of them THEY DONT have a clue regarding JW's and what they preach.

All they will report the negative parts of the WT. Blood issue, military service, cross, christmas. So JW's are famous for all this, and not for their 'good news'.

I never used to do this because my attitude at the time was so stupidly rigid, whereas with no WTS stooge ever watching you it was possible to totally manipulate the sacrilegious time report (in my view it was commercialising spiritual activity and turning it into commercial activity having to report time spent on preaching) and get them off your back by showing imaginary time while doing nothing for them.

Getting the hours on the report seems to be more important than the quality of preaching.

If JWs were only allowed to count the actual time spent talking to people (not walking from door-to-door, driving, or going to Starbuck's), the only "INCREASE" the WT would be able to report every year is an increase of zero's or blank columns on the monthly service report.

The WT knows the numbers aren't real... but it's appearances that matter the most to them.

Actual preaching time when you live in rural areas is probably even less than for those preaching in the city. We were told that even if we saw no-one which was often the angels saw what we were doing so that was a witness in itself!!!

When they talk to me the JWs should subtract time- as I am the one controling the conversation, subject and am the one preaching to them!

oh yea, the angels excuse. I remember hearing that and wondering, "what's the point?" As if me not preaching is going to cause angels to fall out of the heavens

No way! The WTBTS boasts a total of 1.7 billion hours in 2011 in the ministry. Hogwash! The actual productive time is miniscule, meager, teeny, teensy weensy.

One half of the 1.7 billion hours is spent at donut shops or on coffee breaks alone. Another large percentage is spent waiting and setting in a car while someone is making a return visit on someone who is not home. Don't forget that most of the travel time is included in that 1.7 billion hours.

Yah, right JWs spent 1.7 billion hours last year actually preaching and teaching! Its' all about exaggerate, fabricate, amplify and inflate the numbers to make JWs look greater and bigger and better than they really are to the world.

Now they've stooped even lower and dropped the auxiliary hours to 30 hours in the month of March to pump up the hours even more.

Another thing to consider are the very high number of very young children who are counted as ‘publishers’ and whose time is included in the 1.7 billion hours. Come on, how productive can these little ones honestly be in teaching and preaching?
