I just received the following email a few minutes ago, anyone care to suggest a response?

do your math......my children are safer within the Jehovah's Witnesses than in any other organization........

if you compare the cases of child molestation and other acts with the stories of happiness and success ....the success stories will overwhelm all other negative stories.......

i understand you are bitter.......but still......you are an exception....and i believe that it is irresponsible for you to label the Jehovah's Witnesses the way you do.

again...do your homework....do your math.....and you will find the truth..........

I've found it's the last 'defense' they have for 'the truth'... when all the doctrine has been proved false some people always claim that it still the best way to bring up your kids.

a) And he knows this...how?

b) The issue isn't being safer than in other organizations. It is being safer than it currently is within the WTS. All it takes is one molestation to make it UNsafe for that particular child. Even if the vast majority of JW children never get molested, where is his empathy for those who are?

A non-sequitor. You could say the exact same words about the Catholic Church. Until molestation becomes the norm, there will always be more happy stories than sad. Yet the WTS has blasted the Catholic Church for it's pedophile priests, even though the "stories of happiness and success" within the Catholic Church will "overwhelm all other negative stories." Since the WTS condemns others, by their own standards they are now being judged. It's only fair.

One molested child is one too many.

Number of my siblings molested at congregation picnic: 1
Number of my friends molested by elders/their own JW fathers:too many to count.

Number of people I trust my child with just because they claim to be of one religious affiliation or another? ZERO!

Tell them to do the math. If they reduced the number of witnesses from 2 to zero in order to institute an inquiry, then how much safer would their kids be.
