Oops - Wifey might be cross-wise!

She wore her new cross that I bot her for her 50th birthday to work. An elder that works there [whom she rarely sees] saw her and eyed the jewelry.

We'll see how it goes - but she is expecting an invite to 'meet with the elders' now. She does not really care, except that her mother is still living and in the borg. I will of course do all I can to run interference. The elders don't like dealing with me, fire breathing apostate that I am, so she might be able to avoid this.

We'll keep you informed.

Something similar happened to me when my son and dil bought me a unique crucifix to hang on my wall. I caught the looks of the elder's wife that came by on a return visit, but she said nothing....just had that "look" on her face.

I've wanted to buy and wear one too. I have just been afraid of the same thing.:-(

I have been thinking I am letting the fear of man keep me from declaring Christ in this way. I can't recall right now the exact scripture, but the one where Jesus says that he acknowledge before the Father all those that openly acknowledge him.

Hooray for your wifey to have the courage and strength of character! Tell her she is an inspiration!

I think your wife should wear what ever the hell she wants to wear. I go from cross to pentagram, to what ever I want. If asked I'd tell the truth, it's a gift from someone I care very much for.

Funny what the mind can conjure up. Reading the header made me think of a 1981 issue of Games Magazine which had a fake table of contents and referred to their "Cross Wise" feature (difficult crosswords) as "Cross Wives" (angry wives).

If the elders ask, just tell them that it is not a cross, but rather a lower-case t.
