If the stats are really that high I would think that there are many posters here with a DUI/DWI on thier record. Or at least many who have gotten behind the wheel of a car after drinking but did not get caught.

I have one DUI from 1995 on my record. Anyone else care to confess?

I've done it before but did not get caught. The last time was almost a year ago, and after my hangover wore off the next day, I really thought about what I did. I drove fine, focused, and better than I could walk. But the guilt was incredible. I knew people who have died from driving drunk and/or been killed by drunk drivers. I thought about what could have happened. So, no more selfishness for me. I now only drink at home or with certain people, one of which doesn't drink and is the sober driver every time.

We all make mistakes, but the thing is that it is called a mistake not a habit and some people forget that. When you keep doing it over and over (whether it is 2 a year or more) that is when it is called a problem and/or habit. I think it is very insightful for the person who has made the mistake to take control and say never again and make sure that it does not happen again. Cheers to them.
