    I DA'd myself almost 5 years ago.

My son and daughter left with me, then their mom filed for divorce after being married 23 years. My ex-wife is about ready to have a nervous breakdown because the stupid witness cult teaches her that she shouldn't associate with her own kids anymore since they left "The Truth".

She's trying to be a good little witness, but it's killing her. Stupid witness cult......

But don't ever think that they break up families though! Can you feel the love?

    I'm a fader.

There are also a fair number of people who have never been witnesses but have family that are (ie: Bob1999, jgnat, a woman who's alias escapes me, quite a few) and about twice a week is someone who is dating an active witness. Then there is the group that are studying.

As far as 'active' witnesses go, by far the majority are mostly going thru the motions while they try to get their immediate families out intact.

It's much rarer for an active witness to actually be working to draw posters to this site 'back to Jehovah'. There's a handful of them, but not too many.

Welcome to the Board. I hope you stick around.

brought up in the org., drifted away. I am now a christmas-celebrating thanksgiving-cooking braless cursing atheist. However, I still have a little bit of the curse - sort of like Harry Potter having some of Voldemort's soul in him. I can't stand to wear shoes without stockings.

Am married to a faded jw. Knew very little about jw's before my husband's family did some really wierd stuff that really blew me away. Decide to research, found this to be the best site. Found out that the "really wierd stuff" was routine, even mild compared to what many others have experienced in the watchtower. So I got kind of hooked on this, but not as much as my dear mate when he eventually got on too. We really like everyone on here and get really good support and info. Welcome! mrs flipper

There are some who are like me: NBAD (never been a dub) and have no family members who have ever been either. Welcome to the monkey house.

    Dear Buz..,

Yes to all of the above. There is a real mix here. Some are still active Witnesses, some are in it for family and friends only, some have never been disfellowshipped or disassociated..like myself, and still others have been. Then we have those who join us who have never been a Witness, but for whatever reason are here with us. So we get a real range of opinions, and ideas. And even though we may not agree with each other on everything, one thing is for sure, that the majority are very caring loving and supportive people. We look forward to learning more about you.

    Sincerely,

    Lady Liberty

I'm not sure of your exact definition of "real Witness" but I do attend the meetings a few times a month but pass on the Kool Aid.
