    Dear Drew,

    I cannot get the Steve Miller Band song out of my head..remember the song, "Go On Take The Money and Run"?? What I would like to know is WHERE is all the money going that is being contributed and made from the sale of all these land deals?? Some Swiss Bank account somewhere?? With the clever and highly skilled WT lawyers, I am sure they have the money safely tucked away somewhere. Either they will be using it for the huge abuse payouts, which will be never ending, and will likey dry them up quite a bit, or...could it be that they will one day, "take the money and run??"

    Can you imagine if that happened?? The JWs would be FREAKING out!!!! There are definatley too many changes to ignore!! Like I just posted on another thread, these are all pieces of a puzzling picture, that in time will become very clear to all..I don't think that we are that far off from seeing it either!!

    Sincerely,

    Lady Liberty

    Watchtower study is an hour as Gopher outlined.
    Sunday used to last 2 hours total:

    15 min -> 3 songs + 2 prayers
    45 min -> public talk
    60 min -> watchtower study

    soon it will be down to 1 hour 45 min! I can hardly wait.
    Hopefully I will be out of the Borg by then.

    Don't forget,

    The statement in the same article forbidding independent study groups apparently prohibiting learning Biblical Hebrew and Greek, as well as use of materials not produced by the WTBTS for "deeper study" of the Bible.

    Even if I were still an active member I would be asking myself what it was they didn't want me to find out.

    This is not the first time the wts has instructed its members to not study privately in small groups. In 1970 I recall the same announcement. (prior to the great apostasy )

    Good list, but you forgot the biggest clamp down of the lot: T-shirt ban after the convention!

    Drew: not to beat a dead horse here but the "group thing" is not new. What's new is their openly saying that Bible research is a waste of time and that if one must do research one must use the Society's publications. This is indeed a change and a bold move to the "right". This is the point that I'm afraid many will miss and will not realize how HUGE it really is. We're talking information control which is mind control which in turn solidly identifies them as a cult.

    Not new, heard it before, as above post of mine in early 70's they did this , prior to the big meltdown at Bethel.

    They also had a really vicious crackdown in 1981

    >p>I actually watched elders really impose one on private study and simple parties with more than two families. They even warned that any party not approved by and attended by an elder would land one in front of a judicial committee. That was a really rude awakening!

    Will they start formally recapturing faded Witlesses?

    Yikes!

    I think next they will completely eliminate the New Testament and return to Old Testament style stonings for all trangressors.

    If it were not for the laws the government has about murder, I do believe they would love to do that one.
