He then said that they have called us "several times" to meet with us, (This is BS, I was called once and said "I am t0o busy this week")and that they have come to my house several times but we are never home

you know, a few years ago my wife had a JC that I sat in on. (I wont go into details here) anyway, my wife was so upset because the elder that headed the JC was a stoic, self righteous snob. The kind that can NEVER give a comment at a meeting without it being counsel for everyone in the KH but him (you all know the type).

So she starts snapping back at him that he has always treated her bad and that they never tried to help us or sheperd us. He then goes on to say that "the elders" have tried several times to help us but we have never taken advantage of it. And I remember thinking "WHAT??? I have been in this hall for 15 years and I have had ONE sheparding call in that time". yes, ONE. (And that was after our PO ran off with another brothers wife and abandoned his pioneer wife of 20+ years, it was an attempt to "feel out" the affects of it on the cong.)

So I guess I am not the only one that has been fed that line??

you could've been at that church for any number of reasons, discussion re: an upcoming funeral or wedding of a worldly relative, etc., just so happened they were having their 'heathen worship' at the same time.

academy award actor face on: "boy, am i glad to have the true religion, i felt icky going in there".

    case closed. maybe?

If they haven't called you yet they probably don't have enough to get you. Don't panic, and whatever you do don't admit to anything if questioned. They don't deserve to know.

Can I ask you though, why are you looking to other religions? Haven't you had enough bull---- to last a lifetime?

    Just wondering,

I keep waiting for this to happen to me . I have been attending the church down the street off and on for the past year . I usually go to the 10:30 am service when I know the dubs are at the hall . It gets tricky because I live in a small town and have seven witness families that live on my street within two blocks of me . Recently I found out the service is broadcast on local tv channel ..grrreat !

Maybe I don't believe religion is bull$&@$, but like anything else of importance, it can be abused.

You say you have broken free of their authority yet you still fear them. They don't hold any power over you. If you wish to rise above their lying, scheming ways, just tell them that yes you did go to a church. If they tell you they need to meet with you, tell them that you do not wish to do so. What can they do? When I finally let go of their mental control over me, I realized that I don't need to hide who I am anymore and that by doing so, I really hadn't let go of their control over me. They can do whatever they want in their pathetic witch hunts, but they will be doing it without you because you now have a life of freedom from their games. Let go. It took me 4 yrs to get to that point, to just let go.

You want me to appear at a judicial committee meeting at such and such a time?

What am I being accused of? Don't I have a right to know what I am being accused of before I attend?

Will my accusers be present so that I may hear the charges against me from their own mouths as is stated by Jesus in the Bible (two witnesses)?

I will be happy to appear before the committee, but only if my accusers are present and I hear the charges from their own lips?

Elders for the most part are pansies (no offense to flowers?) You ought to have seen the look on the bs conductor when he asked me for my time so i told himthe time on my watch, when he got more specific I told him I don't turn in time and won't Matthew 6th chapter et al. He started well the society bs and I told him they don't use it for anything except to grandize themselves so no I won't turn time in and if you bother me again I won't go out in service either. turned away and left, he still is seething but i don't care.

It's easier for THEM to confront you and ask if you've been going to other churches. 1 person might've seen you but they are looking for you to substantiate it. Tell them NUTHIN'. IGNORE them. If they are going to df you, they'll see if they can find a legit way. Just don't tell them jack.

LOL thats funny. The last they asked me for my time was in June (over the phone) and I said I did not have anything I cared to turn in but "Jehovah always knows what we do".
