As I sit here reading this thread, and drinking a fine glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, and tasty bits of expensive cheese, I acually pity the poor bastards.

Once again, they will traverse the territory with grand hopes that 'Jehovah will be honored' by thier 'placing' of cheap ads for the cult, then in Springtime they will take a look and see the same old tired faces that attend every year. They will pass the cup, ignore the Christ, and report a similar number of partakers and attendees as last year.

Sadness.

I think one of the main reasons they are doing more of this is because HQ knows that much of the JWs just waste time out in service and get nothing accomplished. With one of the campaigns it can be a little bit of a moral booster because the rank and file think they are actually getting something done.

I'd like to see them get nailed under Ontario's liquor laws. Isn't it illegal to serve (pass) alcohol to a minor whether it's consumed or not?

Of course, there's probably some religious exemption loophole anyway, but it's kind of fun to imagine cops raiding a memorial™.

You know what the ritual looks like to an outsider, right? A twenty minute talk why you can LOOK at the bread and wine, you can SMELL it, you can PASS IT AROUND, but you CAN'T EAT IT.

Reminds me of a display of fake food in a Japanese restaurant.
