a friend of mine in a similar situation takes her son to the Boys and Girls club - they have all sorts of programs for this sort of thing, and when she lost her job, she didn't have to pay.

If you are going to start getting pay checks soon why don't you borrow some money since it is certain that you will be able to pay them back quickly? Or I would also use a credit card, payments for the month's purchases are not due until the middle of the next month.

Good thought but I've borrowed out my a@@ just to get food on the table at times. My credit card (one that I have) is maxed. I even tried one of those "scam" joints to lend me money but they won't even look at me because of credit being so shot.

but does HE have friends or family in the area that he'd trust his children with?

I can ask. The situation there is that ex would help but he's stuck because of his job being demanding at this moment until Sept. I didn't ask if he had friends though. I will next time I see him. Good suggestion!

    Positive thinking IS powerful!

I so agree. I even teach that to my kids, though it is so hard at times to remember this. Thanks for the reminder.

If I knew where you lived, I'd help you find child care. There are programs at your Social Service office that will provide child care pretty quickly.

I live in Columubus Ohio. I will look into Social Service. That would be the same building as Social Sercurity?

They have to be certified as a child care provider and complete a 10 year background check, but if you know someone who you trust to babysit in their home, it's great.

That is the biggest point for anyone babysitting my kids. I don't want to come back to kids messed up or killed because I chose the wrong babysitter "I" chose for them.

Social Services is not usually in the same building as Social Security. You should look up AFDC, or Department of Families and Welfare. I know how hard it is to have a "stranger" keep your child. That's the great thing about this program. if you KNOWsomeone...a friend, a relative, one of your ex's relatives. Someone who you know will pass the background check, they can apply to be paid to keep your child in their home. They will probably be totally paid by the state UNTIL you get steady income going, then it's based on your income. Until you can get on your feet and pay it all yourself.

Try calling here and see if they can direct you to the right offices. Franklin County of--Job and Family Services(614) 462-488880 E Fulton St Columbus, OH

    I hope this helps.

Okay, I have edited this three times because the formatting is all screwed up, and all I keep getting is ERROR! grrrrrrrrrr

I have a friend that uses the Boys and Girls club also. The kids love it. It is a great organization, that is new to our town, (over a year) that is getting rave reviews.

Worse case senerio, I know it may be illigal???? But what about post dated checks to a caretaker?? If they have to be paid, but are willing to wait a little while, they may go for it. I would feel that it is better than just an IOU.

Ah, you're so sweet Lisa. I so wish I could move there. I've tried looking for apts there but they are either too expensive or will not take pet. I've tried to talk Zach out of his dog but it would crush him.

My lease is up in Oct so that doesn't give me enough time to get up a dep. I just got a note on my door yesterday saying they would like for me to resign my lease here. I'm waiting a bit longer just in case something pops up but if I sign by Sept. 18th the lease drops to 578. a month when it's been 600. a month. Also they will be taking off 100. for the first month of the signed lease.

It looks like I'll be here for one more year but that will give me enough time to save a little at a time so by next year I may be able to have a good deposit for a place closer to you.

    Love ya too Lisa,

    Froggy
