My Story "this is long, I'm sorry"

Your story is moving and touched a raw nerve, ex-nj-jw.

I allowed my youngest daughter to get baptized even though I was racked with doubts about the WTS. Since I've become inactive, she has been treating me with thinly-concealed contempt. Where do you think she gets the fodder for her attitude? Why, Jehovah's loving organization, where else?

I hope your son comes around and accepts you for what you are: a loving mother who simply walked away from a controlling and abusive environment.

We all make mistakes. It's hard to be mad at you for getting soft and allowing
grandparents to watch their grandchild. That's human nature.

Straighten things out with him the best you can and just deal straight up about
how your parents belong to a mind-control cult.

    Great story, thanks for sharing.

    ex-nj-jw:

You are one class act! Great story!

I would take one tried-and-true friend like "S" over 6 million conditional "S"'s anyday.

I think the built-in impermanence of any so-called friendship in "the Truth" was one thing that helped begin to wake me up.

Thanks again for getting that all down on e-paper and sharing it with us.

BTW, you're not still "punishing" Richard C for staying out the other night are you?

Thanks for sharing, I am glad most everything worked out good. 25 is still young, hopefully your son will come around with time.

Wow, nj! Parents can be strange, and, in your case, cruel!

Naw, he's out of the dog house, I made him get on his knees and beg for forgivenes It was really fun!

    Frosty, you can have them

Grace - What I miss the most is having a mom and having a relationship with my mom. I sent my son a letter the other day to let him know that I love him and when he's ready I'll always be here for him.
