Thankyou for taking time out from your busy schedule of shepherding the flock to consider this week's Watchtower article for us, Brother OnTheWayOut.
Your exemplary efforts will undoubtably bring joy to Jehovah's heart.
I noticed that you didn't include the apostates in your comments.
Evidently, previous counsel from God's word has influenced all true Christians in this regard.
We also have the Faithful Slave to guide our thoughts when dealing with apostates.
I particularly recieved much encouragement from the following Watchtower article:
October 1, 1993 Watchtower magazine
Page 19 paragraph 15
"Do
I not hate those who are intensely hating you, OJehovah, and do I not feel a loathing for those revolting against you? With a complete hatred I do hate them. They have become to me real enemies." (Psalm 139:21, 22) It was because they intensely hated Jehovah that David looked on them with abhorrence. Apostates are included among those who show their hatred of Jehovah by revolting against him. Apostasy is, in reality, a rebellion against Jehovah. Some apostates profess to know and serve God, but they reject teachings or requirements set out in his Word. Others claim to believe the Bible, but they reject Jehovah’s organization and actively try to hinder its work. When they deliberately choose such badness after knowing what is right, when the bad becomes so ingrained that it is an inseparable part of their makeup, then a Christian must hate (in the Biblical sense of the word) those who have inseparably attached themselves to the badness. True Christians share Jehovah’s feelings toward such apostates; they are not curious about apostate ideas. We look forward to seeing you on the platform more often Brother OnTheWayOut.
Peace
The weekend is upon us. Perhaps more comments are forthcoming.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to put this up in Blondie's absence.
Excellent food for thought.
BTW, would Blondie consider OTWO a "Nethinim" (Given one)?
Open Mind
Thanks for this, OTWO. The weekend is upon us!!!! And I, my friends, am NOT at the DC but am at the beach instead. Thanks to all of you at JWD who keep the flame lit.
BTT for you insomniacs or those on their way to the Hall.
This is the introductory lesson to the big apostate article next week. I will be getting a scan in time to try out my new comments you will not hear.
I will try to post the scan of the material with at least 2 or three comments from me for the next 2 to 3 weeks after that. Blondie is very busy with other things right now that take precedence. Can't get blood from a turnip, me grandad said.
OTWO, good job. At least one person now knows what it takes to do this each week.
Blondie
At least one person now knows what it takes to do this each week.
It is a bit time-consuming. Scanning, then cutting and pasting.
I can see why you might cut down on your own comments, as you
have to think about what they are REALLY trying to say.
I didn't comment even 30% as much as you, Blondie, usually have done
and I didn't quote older literature like you did at all. My font wasn't as
fancy because of the incompatibility from WORD and JWD, so I copied
the entire WORD file into an email and sent it to myself. Then it was
compatible with JWD, but I didn't want to spend time fancying up the
font and text.
Thanks for taking the study this week, OnTheWayOut!
it certainly must be very hard work for Blondie to do this weekly and she has our gratitude for her efforts.
I thought your comments reflected well the message being put across, the reader must submit to the explaination by the WTS, and not retaliate on any of the goofs the Borg makes. They must force themselves to show a psuedo love to try and attract people in, once these people are in and baptised - if they are not popular or seen to be doing the average, they become left alone to fend for themselves as the congregation withdraws from them.
I used to say whats the point of going after new converts when so many are falling out the other end, why are the ones who are already in not looked after better? I guess because this love that true christians are to show, isnt really with JW's as a whole, thats the problem with controlling people's christianity, no one does it from the right motives.
